Strange noise after internals Hi, I just installed some autoteck internals and everything went well. Im holding 1700psi at wot and I dont see anything leaking. But since the install im having a strange noise coming from the engine bay. It only happens when the car has been sitting for awhile. Only when the car is cold. About 30 seconds after starting the car im getting a strange sqeeking sound from the engine bay area. It sounds a lot like a sqeeking fan belt. It only makes the noise about 4 or 5 times and then thats it. It doesnt do it any other time. Im thinking maybe this is the internals injecting fuel??? But with the hood open the noise is pretty loud. Has anyone else experianced this? Thanks, |
Search for squeak.... This is a known issue with auto techs. I have the same issue, when starting the car cold. JT |
Turn up radio, problem solved. |
well, is this normal? let me know so I can stop stressing. |
Yes it's normal. I just fixed it the other day. This post by VitViper has the fix. Download the hpfp file and make those changes to your map. My squeak went away. It happens because the HPFP pressure spikes |
Thank u! But does it need to be fixed? Will it hurt anything if I just leave it as is? |
It might wear out the RV faster over time but it shouldn't be that big of a deal. I don't like my nice car squeaking I had to fix that shit. Sometimes it was fairly loud. Only takes like 2 minutes to fix if you have an AP. |
