SURE rmm people! Need your help!

Just installed my Torq r3 today. Start the car and wait until it idles around 900rpm. Hit the gas paddle and then I feel a really significant sudden viberation, kinda like a knock. Wonder if it is the proper aftermath when you installed a Torq r3. Do you have the same result? I did tighten up all the bolts before I finish....
Thanks!

anavrinIV 08-26-2012 08:42 PM

yes.

h0ckeyman 08-26-2012 10:46 PM

ms3blackmica 08-26-2012 10:58 PM

Yes it's normal. I installed the whole Sure street trilogy Thursday and initially it felt like sitting in a paint shaker when the RPMs were like 800-1200ish. I've since put about 400 miles on the car and it's gotten a lot less pronounced.

ms3_150 08-26-2012 11:23 PM

Constantin 08-26-2012 11:34 PM

If you do a "donate" mode they will start vibrating :)

G26 08-27-2012 05:48 AM

It will die down significantly within the next few weeks.

taf0422 08-27-2012 05:54 AM

^^^until then enjoy the back massager

08.5MS3 08-27-2012 07:15 AM

Did you torque the bolts or just "tighten" them.

There shouldn't be an audible knocking sound; but vibrations are completely normal.

and plastic pannel vibs :)

CodeMan 08-27-2012 07:55 AM

I have the SURE street version. It does vibrate a little, especially with the A/C compressor running, but it's completely tolerable. As mentioned, shouldn't rattle, just vibrate. And it does smooth out over time. I have a few hundred miles on mine and it's not as "bad" as day one. And totally worth it for a non-bucking 1-2 shift.

What he said. There shouldn't be a knock. But yeah, vibes = racecawr motherfucka!

bislag 08-27-2012 12:11 PM

Make the best out of it. Get some bitches in the car, and let it get them wet. You might want to put a few garbage bags over the seats though. You know, in case of stank.

If you're worried, double check that everything is torqued to spec.

p057 08-27-2012 12:33 PM

i hated the vibes, set to 1000 rpms idle. bye bye vibes.

but yeah, right after you install it, back massager. you'll miss it.

Lol, I love my vibes. Can't drive a manual car that doesn't vibrate because I can't feel it rev up.

I don't look at my tach, so if I can't feel it rev then I don't know when to let out the clutch when taking off. Lol.

I had to drive a customers car a couple weeks ago and I was revving out 1st like a noob because I couldn't hear the exhaust or feel it. And it had a pussy ass clutch so I couldn't feel it grab as well. lol

Didn't torq since no torq wrench....wonder if torq is a must....read some thread before and they all doing the job with regular wrench....

Yeah, the only "additional" sound I got now are from the plastic parts during the vibz
....lol....

Thanks man!

Tlnt60 08-31-2012 04:26 PM

Torq is a must and some loctite

Printman 08-31-2012 05:36 PM

Not familiar with the SURE but I have a JBR 88DM and my wife cant stand it, makes her feel sick on her stomach, LOL. She gets motion sickness anyway and the vibes just make it worse. I love it because she never wants to drive my car which saves me gas and miles.

Dumyz 08-31-2012 05:37 PM

The rumble and shit will die down just a bit in a few weeks of driving. Until then, prepare yourself for ball massages and try not to giggle too much... homo. ;)
