Sure or ts, convince me

Ordering a rmm to replace my inserts today.
Ruled trz out bc of the bad vibrations.
Either getting the sure street or ts 75 duro.
Convice me which is best. Pricing is very similar so that's no issue

xxdjfate76xx 04-08-2011 07:37 AM

I've got some.. Bad vibrations!

Silver Ecstasy 04-08-2011 08:47 AM

So.... you just got inserts and you're already replacing them? How come?

DaleNixon 04-08-2011 08:51 AM

Inserts wear out.

well. it rained last night and i got on it and wheel hopped horribly, and my motor smacked the firewall, checked it this morning no dent, but a loud pop came from the front of the car.

clowncar 04-08-2011 08:55 AM

That was just VTAK popping...

You're joking right?

Okay, i'll probably give you the most polite response before anyone else sees this:

1. 260 hp, 280 ft-lbs tq, FWD
-It's an extremely powerful car for front wheel drive.
-Wheel hop, torque steer, kinda normal really..

2. CS Inserts
-This only stiffens up the quickest and easiest mount to access. You still have transmission and passenger side mounts that are soft as well.
-Inserts are a bandaide, not a fix.

3. "well. it rained last night and i got on it and wheel hopped horribly"
-Stop trying to tokyo drift in the rain.
-Do some more research, specifically on mods before you buy, install and disappoint.
-Don't be a douche in the rain.
-What are you trying to prove?
-Rain, wheel hop, need I say more?
-Give me your keys, you're grounded.

wasnt trying to tokyo drift, fwd cant drift lol. the only reason i did it is to test how wet weather grip is compared to how the mustang was, since ive only had this car two weeks.

Silver Ecstasy 04-08-2011 09:02 AM

Still. The motor will smack the firewall if you're going to powershift or drop the clutch after each gear shift (especially in the rain). This is not a Mustang (as i'm sure you're well aware of). Let off the gas before shifting, and engage throttle carefully, no differently than you would your RWD Mustang. Just because it's FWD and won't spin you out in the rain, doesn't mean you can go balls-deep.

So since your test "failed", want to sell me your inserts?

it was a first gear pull, didnt dump the clutch, i feathered it out and gave about 3/4 throttle.
and yes im aware of that, this is precisely the reason i bought the speed3, i was sick of the rear kicking out.

will do once i order my ts mount.

Silver Ecstasy 04-08-2011 09:09 AM

TS Mount? Heard they're bullshit and Haltech even posted about them. I'd go SURE. Besides, you qualify for a MSF SURE VIP discount. Order SURE, support one of the best vendors since the very beginning of MSF times.

James Barone is releasing his rmm this week!

Amazon 04-08-2011 10:12 AM

Has anyone tried banana peppers for inserts instead? I hear they're hot...

LOL win.

blakkat 04-08-2011 10:29 AM

All the links you posted talk about the companies policies, didn't really see
Much info about the actual quality of the product, most likely getting sure anyway though

Silver Ecstasy 04-08-2011 10:31 AM

Well, i'm not going to hold your hand. I at least searched for you, but ultimately it's your decision.

If it were me, I'd go with a company who has supported our platform for a long time, not just another company who wants to make ANOTHER RMM out of the many that we already have.

After all, it's just a RMM.

blakkat 04-08-2011 10:39 AM

Agreed going with sure their products look great, I like their style, and as you said they supported this platform for a while thanks for the help

Mikey 04-08-2011 11:04 AM

I have the SURE street RMM and the quality of it is awesome. There are hardly any vibes unless im at stop with my AC on, but it minimal. I actually want to upgrade to the SURE track after i get my AP.:32:
Very good product. I would like to see how JB's RMM turn out as well.

Hamilton69 04-08-2011 11:06 AM

i bought the sure race urethane mount, its freaking awsome, great quality, looks great even though its where you dont look? it was a little stiff at first but its smooooth now, it also decide on what you want out of the car, i do some spirited driving pretty frequently, with the drag strip every few weekends, so i bought the track version, if you dont track the car get the street urethane, it will be more than enought for backroad driving, and red light raceing, and even the occational drag trip, thats my opinion, i highly recoment the sure rmm....

Banana peppers aren't hot, they are sweet. Kinda like you.

In other news..I didn't read the whole thread of this prepubescent that owns a speed3 but... JBR is coming out with a rear motor mount. Supposed to be awesome. I'm waiting for one. I has CS inserts and they suck after flashing to stage1 with CS SRI+TIP 93. :zx11pissed:

IshiKage 04-08-2011 11:45 AM

no need to convince you. I have a TS and love it, cant wait for the TS engine mounts to be released. SURE makes awesome products as well. make your pick

This is very true. It will be available towards the end of the weekend. I'll post back when it is.

Thanks,
Jamie

karl-hungus 04-08-2011 12:28 PM

forcedinduktion 04-08-2011 12:39 PM

it was your thread in particular that made me consider the ts mount.

Seriously? Your ignorance makes me want to puke. The banana pepper (capsicum annuum) is moderately hot due to the plentiful traces of genus capsaicinin it. Capsaicin causes a burning sensation when contact is made with tissue.

TRex 04-08-2011 08:48 PM

i like the TS...cheapest one out there

honestly is up to you...the only on the market that is different in major design is the CPE mount in that it uses a unique bushing material...the others are all essentially the same

that being said i am very impressed with my TS mount for what it is worth

Duk 04-08-2011 10:29 PM

I had my car up today on the hoist, checked me 75duro CPe RMM, and noticed it had cracked..(the bushing part)... never again.!

chumpsteak 04-08-2011 11:08 PM

I love my TS mount as well. Vibes are there but aren't bad and are really only noticeable at idle. Car is tight again.

Just so you know. Someones sure rmm fell apart, hasn't happened with a ts

blakkat 04-10-2011 10:58 AM

james, i think im gonna get your rmm, its pretty cheap and looks like great quality. however which one do you recommend for my application, i want it to not have horrible vibrations, but i want it to stick as well.

danxk3nnz 04-10-2011 12:07 PM

@jamie other than material and shape, what's the difference between the billet mount and the chrome-molly? are they intended for different applications?

Edit *Nvm this I found your post in the vendor forums thanks*

How is that ignorant? Please shed some light on that for me? I do not find them spicy at all. So hence my comment. Plus, I didn't realize this was a cooking forum all the sudden. :smashfreakB:

TRex 04-11-2011 06:46 AM

jamie is that mount on your site yet? i didnt see it.....

what bushing material do you use?

Mounts are on the site.

Go to James Barone Racing

Polyurethane for both the aluminum mount and the dog bone. I chose poly because it is a proven material and there have been no reported failures of poly mounts. Better for you and better for me.

Thanks,
Jamie
