Take a look at this one..

Found this mean looking Mother F'er : Clean car fax and I am having it inspected by a group that does a 600 point inspection, test drive , flood, wreck everything...if it looks good its mine. Selling my 2012 Corvette GS for it....tired of the cost and responsibility and tired of the naturally aspirated engine. I used to have SRT4 missed the turbo neck break...found the MS3...test drove love it. Save me 20k and hell I only drive 2 to 3k a year anyway...

What you think...

2013 Mazda Mazdaspeed3 Touring - Inventory | JD Motors | Auto dealership in Austin, Texas

Says downpipe w/ full exhaust so I would want verification that it's got hpfp internals. Also check the intake and intercooler.

If it has internals then that's an awesome deal imo.

Darkone 01-21-2016 06:16 PM

HPFP? fuel pump? Fuel pumps on these cars the weak link?
By the way I got em down to 20k +tt&l out the door under 22k shipped to me from Austin to Houston.
Best place to buy darker tails...these gotta go....

macdiesel 01-21-2016 06:18 PM

Oh lord!

Uhh yeah man. Direct fuel injection requires insanely high fuel pressure via a high pressure cam driven fuel pump. Once you install a downpipe that pump won't be able to keep up(especially on a gen 2) so it's internals need to be upgraded.

Check this out. http://www.mazdaspeedforums.org/foru...p-fuel-105248/

macdiesel 01-21-2016 06:26 PM

I'd walk. Good luck finding out if it has internals, unless the dealer is willing to pull and look.

Darkone 01-21-2016 06:30 PM

Never delt with direct injection...lol however, I looked at the install ...on HPFP internals looks easy. I have been working on Vettes for 8 years had a SRT4 before that....I will buy the internals and just install myself. To be on the safe side...

macdiesel 01-21-2016 06:31 PM

The install is not the issue. It's the knucklehead driving like a knucklehead before you that may not have installed it.

You can still ask if he'll let you inspect the pump internals. Explain the situation and if he says no then you walk.

You should have no problem finding another low mileage speed.

Darkone 01-21-2016 08:40 PM

Thanks guys, I am going to walk away on this one. From what your saying this means that its possible that the car could have been running lean and I could be walking into a problem ....Inspecting the HPFP (based on what I read about the install) looks like its a bit involved to get down to the fuel pump and inspect things...not worth the time and effort. A bigger problem I see is that this is an issue on every speed3 I look at ...its very easy to install an exhaust and then go back stock and sell it....and if your good it would be very hard for a potential buyer to know. Meaning who knows if your buying something that has been run lean without allot of work to discover. Also there is not allot of low mileage speed3s around....maybe I will just keep my vette...or look at a WRX or something...

Thanks for helping a newb speed3 buyer you guys are awesome and I appreciate this information!!

LOL...

Hargarbl 01-21-2016 11:09 PM

something else you can do to check for HPFP internals as well, look at these install instructions, find the part where they talk about the zip tie (8th Picture) and inspect and see if you see that zip tie on the car. Most of us don't take that off since its not in the way and just easier to leave, I doubt he would have taken the time to take the internals out and left the exhaust..

It's an aftermarket turboback exhaust.

My coolant is green also.

Take a read if you are in the market for a speed.

anavrinIV 01-22-2016 06:30 AM

I'm not convinced it has a downpipe. Full exhaust? Lol no that's just the stock muffler removed. Check that for yourself before you pass on it, you could be passing on a great car.

Those rear tires are too big though, clearly this dealership gives zero fucks because they couldn't be bothered to replace the tires with correctly sized ones.

No it's not. That's the stock axleback at least with the muffler removed. And since no one sells the section between the second cat and axleback we can safely say it's a stock catback possibly with no resonators/muffler.

As for the downpipe, dealers talk out their ass all the time so until I see pics of an aftermarket downpipe I'm not convinced.

Oh I didn't see the other pics.

:lmao:

This would apply to all dealers - No dealer will replace tires unless they are bald.

WAMBUSHHHH! 01-22-2016 12:50 PM

Yeah, from the pictures I'm not sold its a full TBE. Can't tell either way. OP can try talking to some of the TX Nator guys. Someone has to be local to Austin that can maybe lend a hand at quickly giving a once over. Hell they might even know the previous owner.

ATXMSpeed3 03-31-2016 11:25 AM

All this place does is buy modded cars and make them seem like such a badass deals. I'd go private seller if you're going to buy one with mods

PolishMs3 04-04-2016 09:26 PM

Bro, it doesn't even have the mazdaspeed oil cap...You gotta walk

sh4d0w 04-04-2016 11:05 PM

Seems like a troll post to me anyhow.
