Tech package headlight problem

I hope this is the correct section for this first off..

So my problem is that the headlights seem to be pointed wrong horizontally. I recently had an incident with a deer that required new headlights (2012 with tech package) . My first drive in the dark I thought the headlights were too low, so went back and had them raise them up a bit, but it seems that wasn't my problem.

They said the headlights should self adjust left to right and didn't see an adjustment for it. I believe the headlights are pointed about 30 degree out from the car as it leaves a "V" shape in the light pattern. Like I said raising or lowering didn't help and the two adjustments they saw on the housing both seemed to be for up and down. Hopefully somebody here can help.

As you can see from the pic, which is on low beams, the headlights are pointed high right now(too high) as shown by the illumination on the exit sign.

Sorry for my formatting since I'm on a cellphone.

Is your AFS light blinking at all? I had a similar issue before I unplugged my SWAS. When we raised the headlight a bit it must have gotten caught. I had to pop it back in to place gently with my finger I lowered it a bit and it started to work again. Better than the dealer wanting to charge me 1400 for a new headlight motor.....

No it is not. When I start the car you can see them both move side to side like they normally would.

The airbag was deployed so I'll check the swas, wouldn't the tc light be showing off with that though?

If there is something wrong with it it's on the body shop that just fixed it. I'm just trying to give them ideas or if it's easy enough fix it myself.

The body shop talked to his Mazda technician friend. He mentioned the headlight bulbs could be in upside down. Were going to flip them tomorrow and I'll post here the results. I haven't seen any other threads with this issue so maybe it can help somebody

The headlights were not in wrong. They shop has raised them even more and I'm going to try again I suppose.. If that doesn't work they're paying for it to go to a Mazda dealer

With the tech headlights there is a disk under that plastic cover which adjusts up and down. Try messing with that too see if there is a difference.

Well, there goes that idea. At least they will send it to Mazda to get it fixed.

Yea.. Sucks since I can't really drive at night though with the lights like this though.

Just noticed that the pass airbag doesn't turn on with a passenger also, so that needs taken care of now too.
Damn deer

Why wasn't the car totaled? I wouldn't feel comfortable driving a car that had airbags deployed and was that severely damaged. But that's just me.

Because it wasn't over the 75 or 80% threshold to total it.
