Default Time to move on

So after buying my 2010 speed 3 with 2 miles on it, I have decided to move on to something new. Yes, I will have a part out thread at some point for everything.

Reason:
Space, the speed 3 simply doesn't have what we need.

What we are getting:

2008 Mercedes CLS 55 AMG or CLS 550 (test driving both today, going to decide tonight).

Wish me luck in euro-land!

What? You're telling me that a CLS 55 has more space than a Pu? I call BS. Good luck with the Benzito.

I've always like the CLS's. Those 55 motors are beast.

With the baby we can no longer put both seats down for space. The stroller frame takes up the whole trunk ins the speed, where the cls still has room for two additional bodies should we need to get rid of a few

heh, did a full work up on the cost of my car versus the cls 550. cls was cheaper minus a catastrophic failure (which both have a warranty against).

mazda => 500 a year in maint (oil, fluids, etc).
=> customizations, I don't even know I think over the life of the car I have 4k into it.
=> tires (3rd set) 2400 bucks
=> overall 2100 per year into the mazda

merc => 300 in maint (averaged 200/year on odd years and 400 on even years).
=> will not customize at all, period. Just maint.
=> tires are comparable (for what I get)
=> brakes are comparable in cost (for what I get)
=> estimate is 1500 a year in total maintenance

But fear not! I am looking at a exocet for the mod bug in the nearish future

Speed is up for sale on Craigslist PDX, I will post on the forum later tonight. A search on craigslist PDX will show it (not trying to get banned by posting the link here). @Raider

add it to seattle area too for better coverage, most people will make the 3 hour trip if interested.

I have a full exocet's worth of parts in my garage minus a trans that I'm trying to sell. I'm all the way across the country though.

you can make it fit if you want it enough 3 across the back, and just switched to FF middle. Double BOB fits in the back with wheels off. Either way goodluck on your decision

you'll be singing a different song the first time you have to get that car repaired out of pocket.

Aside, nice ride, congrats.

Man I saw a beautiful condition Black Buick Grand National yesterday in Fruit Cove. A grey haired old woman was driving it 35 in a 45 zone hahaha. I wanted to ask her if she would sell it.

I went to the car show at Fruit Cove Baptist on Saturday. Tons of really nice cars, plus a pristine 87 GN. I was jealous. I really want to get the paint and body done now.

I plan of paying this bad boy off in 36 months, and then trade up to the next car

I'm glad that your first concern was how to not pay for the unreliability of this car I want. Smart people when car shopping whom come across a car they like but are concerned about unreliability and the cost of maintenance just keep moving and buy a more dependable car.

As far as paying it off in three years and trading up? That is the answer to the age old question of how do I waste the most money possible on cars.

Edit: sorry I just realized that you are probably really concerned about the incredibly small size of your manhood and feel that pretending you have money by driving a Mercedes is the only way you knew how to compensate. In that case I hope the new car helps you feel better about your shortcomings (pun intended)

Yawn.... Let's see... more comfort, more power, less maintenance cost, same fuel economy, safer, bigger interior, more trunk space, fewer cop stare downs, quieter, blah blah blah...

I loved my speed but I paid less for this then I did the speed. As far as warranties are concerned I had an extended on the speed as well, and needed it. As far as trade in, you are correct, it is a waste of money to trade in all the time. I have always wasted money on cars. From my rx-7 to my mr-2 to the speed. Resorted to penis size issues? Really? What are you, 12? I hope you never have children, because you would make horrible people, just like you. Besides it's not the size of the sword that matters. You only need that first six inches to get the job done.

I don't know where you get less maintenance cost on this car from. I worked at a Mercedes Dealership and just to have your car in the maintenance bay was like $120/hr.

Warranty. Anything breaks, it is covered. Oil changes etc are also covered (as part of negotiations). Anything not covered after the warranty ends, I will do. I am not a total prat. Parts cost what they cost, the internet is my friend. As long as the block doesn't shit the bed before 200k, I will have saved what I was about to go through on the speed.

Made sure to get the non super charged one and had it looked over to ensure long long life.

My biggest worry is the air suspension. But that is covered for now. When it dies (as all parts do), I have a great community to pull from to get it fixed right, and cheaply (buddy is a former merc mechanic ).

All problems can be solved with good whiskey and friends.

This is a pretty disappointing post. I knew MSF was pretty good when it comes to laying down the hammer on teh stupid, but to say something like you just did because the man bought a car he wanted is pretty low.

It's not like he went out and spend four grand on a fifteen year old S-class with a salvage title so he can "roll around in a benz". He bought a pretty damn nice car that'd give most k04 speed3s a run for their money speed-wise (13.3 @ 107).

As far as wasting money, you live life, then you die and nothing matters. So why do you care about him buying cars every three years?

The Benz is a whopping two years older than his speed. Why are your panties in such a bunch over it?

I dislike your choices also. They reflect poor judgment, and your lack financial responsibility. I hope that people read this thread as an example of what not to do.

There is nothing wrong with stating the truth about your penis. From the list of cars in your purchase history I am convinced that you are buying vehicles in an attempt to gain the most attention from other people. The lack confidence in yourself is transparent. You can not blame @Easter Bunny; for having the balls to state what everyone is thinking.

What the fuck kind of metaphor is that? The Size of the sword does matter! Its like showing up to a ninja samurai sword fight with a pocket knife. Sure you have a knife, But everyone will just laugh at you.

OP seems so happy about his choice I didn't want to burst his bubble. We've all been thinking it but @littleloogy; said it perfectly.

Sounds like a pretty narrow-minded bunch, god forbid someone have a different opinion than yours.

It might just be the reason why cars exist in more than a single variety. Shocking concept, isn't it?

I love my speed3 and all but I like it because it suits my needs for this specific time in my life. I guarantee you I would still be driving my b5 S4 if the warranty hadnt run out or if I had fuck tons of money to put into it.

Oh and @littleloogy you everyone realized your shit smelled like big foots dick once you tossed out "35mpg". Our cars only get milage like that if your shit is limp tuned.

Fuck it @zeroecco; beautiful car have fun with it wouldn't mind taking a ride in that!!

Haha comparing a speed to that is just plain wrong they're in 2 different categories I know this is a performance oriented site but it's not like he got a pos charger rt....

If it's worth it for you I'm glad! it's another chapter in your life good luck!
