Exclamation torque steering help

this is my first time owing a FWD car with this much torque and the torque steer is crazy. I drove RWD car most of my life so I'm new to this torque steering and needed some advice on how to control it. When is the best time to shift between gears to avoid or minimize torque steer? Thanks in advance

@Naga; are you completely stock? You have no idea what torque steer is then.

If you ever decide to track the car and then build it up, you're going to realize how much that tq really helps coming out of corners. You'll learn how to modulate your boost and not bog your car down completely and you'll really soar right through turns. FWD is great for this.

it has an cold air intake and I just order cobb acessport. Torque steering isn't that big of a deal for me and it's the first time I experience this

I bought my speed and first front wheel drive car this passed September. I can't say that the torque steer bothered me very much. Just grab the wheel tight and keep her straight.

I still really fail to see the problem here. Just bought a used '12 and I can honestly say I don't experience any noticeable torque steer. Granted, living in the city I haven't taken it through the twisties yet but I have been zooming in a straight line quite a bit. Perhaps I'm just used to holding on to the wheel tight with one hand.

Other than the RMM, is there really anything the previous owner could have done to tamp down the torque steer? I double checked the other day and found it still had the stock mounts, so I'm genuinely curious why everyone complains about torque steer..

Also, JBR 80 duro on order. Can't wait!!

The MazdaSpeed3 is my first FWD Turbo car and honestly no torque steer at all. I previously drove a camaro which i love, but i love my MS3 more! Hold on to the wheel all i can say.

Get a rear motor mount, ditch the stock tires, and drive your car more. You'll get used to it and learn to like it. Also, growing a pair and holding on helps.

I have to admit. There is a good amount of creativity put towards denying that:

1. Torque-steer exists in these cars.
2. It isn't an undesirable trait that manufacturers (OEM and aftermarket) don't try to eliminate.

Don't get me wrong. It isn't so bad that it REALLY bothers me, but I willing to consider anything that helps reduce torque steer (i.e. RMM).

Only time I ever have had a lot of torque steer to where it kind of got me at all is during surface type transitions or if one side hits a little gravel and spins.

Dude it ain't that bad at all. Now I admit if you're speeding down some uneven roads and you're only holding gingerly on to the wheel with one hand and you hit a few bumps than it might scare you. All you have to do is hold on tight with BOTH hands when going WOT and not be a pussy. You'll be fine OP, after a little while you won't even notice it.
