Trade in question So I am on the verge of trading in my ms3 and have all the stock out stuff I need but wanted to get some opinions here regarding the last piece. I have a ported oem IM with vtcs delete. When the car is up to operating temps you can start it without having the fumbling idle that a cold start brings. Basically you wont be able to tell it has a vtcs delete. I was going to wire the sensor and motor in so no cells popped but did not feel like removing the manifold. Once the car is traded in it probably wont be until the next day the dealer figures out the issue or even longer. Do you think they can come back at me regarding this or do you think they will just leave me be so long as cels aren't being thrown? Orrrrr someone can feel free to come install their stock IM and take mine for free lol...no really though... |

as long as you don't misrepresent the condition, you should be fine |

I wish I could just trade it modded. Would be a fun car for someone to pick up. Damn dealers always wanting stock shit :( |

I'm not getting rid of my car anytime soon, but when I do sell it I will not be stocking out. I would not lie about it having been modded, so there's really no point. And honestly, you gotta this no about who your market is. To the right buyer, a modded car is a selling point. The last car I sold was a fully bolted 03 WRX, and the mods were a selling point. |
Well I am not private partying it I am trading in and the dealers usually are dickheads about mods. Returning it to stock is just to attempt to get full trade in value and making as much on the side from selling my parts as I can. I may just tell them the intake was ported and leave it at that. It will have a corksport intake on it which the dealer sells anyway. |
Corksport intake If I would have known that I would have given you a complete OEM intake just for shipping cost (I have 3 of them) |
I had an older 626 that had a permanent CEL on. You could unplug the battery for a few minutes and the light would go out but come back on in about 15-20 minutes. WHen I was on the way to the dealer to trade it in, pulled over just short of the dealer driveway, did the battery unhook for a few minutes then onto the dealer. They did the trade in appraisal with a 5 minute test drive. No CEL netted me at least $1,000 more on the trade in value.:headbang: |
I ended up trading it with the ported intake manifold in place and a cobb flash tune with the ap2. Hope the idiots at the dealer don't separate the two. It also has a cs hpfp installed along with a custom short shifter bracket, cs stage 2 intake, stoptech slotted rotors and ceramic pads. Would be a good buy for someone wanting to BT |
Back in the fall tried to sell mine with mods and got no bites, if only the buyers were familiar with them. And the dealer appraisal sucked with them. |

Nope. No reason to. You sign a paper stating emisions are intact, which they were. I explained that the tuning computer was locked to the car to the salesman. That was all. |
I highly doubt they care. I'm sure they will either just park it on their used lot or auction it off. At least that's what I've seen. |
