So I'm sitting here in the desert (Afghanistan) talking to a buddy of mine about how I'm trying to figure out my finances so I can buy an MS3 (2007-2010) and finance my 10 year wedding anniversary trip. And I'm talking about how I want to pretty much tune the crap out this MS3. And this other guy, some douche bag, sitting next to us says "Don't do it man." And of course I want to know why he thinks I shouldn't. So I ask. And of course this guy is a Mustang enthusiast, just like everyone else in the world. He starts telling me how Mazda Corporation stated 1 in 10 MS3 turbos fail. Has anyone heard anything about this? I googled it and didn't find anything in the first 3 pages, and if you can't find it in 3 pages you won't.

He went off on this tirade about how cheap the interior of Mazdas was. I'm kind of blown away by this because I have a Grand Touring CX7 (2008) and it doesn't really feel cheap to me.... I pretty much chalked him up to being an idiotic "My 5.0 mustang would beat the crap out of your _______" kind of guys and let it go. Still had me thinking though.

1 in 10...hmm...

So if there's 14,000 members here and we assume that 10,000 of them have a MS engine w/k04, that would mean that 1000 would have experienced turbo failure. Now this is no scientific poll, but I'm pretty sure your troll buddy's numbers are way out off.

Take that stat with a grain of salt.

That being said, the cam driven fuel pump will need to be upgraded in about 1/10 of 2010's and above.

Internals for the pump can be had for relatively cheap, and if you're sitting in the middle of a warzone, I'd bet you could manage the install.

Tell your new found buddy that Ford announced that 8 out of 10 Mustang owners have small dicks. Have him Google it!

And get what you like. You can build substantial amounts of additional power inexpensively, safely and reliably with the Speed 3 if you listen to the knowledgable guys here and avoid doing stupid things. Making a lot more power on a normally aspirated 'Stang is gonna cost big bucks. And the newer 412 hp GT's push $40,000.

For what it is worth, the new 412 hp GT hits 60-100 in 6.1 seconds according to test results. With less than $2,000 in simple mods as in my sig. I run the exact same time. Yeah, rear wheel drive cars kill us from a dig, but you'd be surprised how strong this little car can be made to run for little money once she hooks up.

And everybody and his suck buddy will not be driving one like with the Mustang.

Fortunately this guy isn't my friend, I have never seen him before and don't care to again. He seemed completely like a one-upper kind of guy. Now, the buddy of mine here is a huge hater of Mustangs so we ended :chairshot: that conversation pretty quick when the dude brought up his Stang.

Last time I checked most of the parts in the Mazda are Ford. lol. This guy is a fucking idiot.
