I find this very convenient because i live in an apartment complex. Also, my phone camera doesnt do justice. It is shinier in person. Im very satisfied with this product.

And beforehand, i apologize for my n00bness if this has been covered before

So tell me what you all think!!:headbang:

I will have to pick some of this up...

Spoofmastafly 05-13-2013 06:00 PM

Always iffy with the rinse free washes. Probably works good inbetween water and soap washes.. similar to detailing spray. Wouldnt use it if there was actual dirt and grime I could see on the car tho.

$5? How much did you use of it?

KiwiFlavor 05-13-2013 06:20 PM

It says on the instruction to pour 4 oz for 2 gallons of water. I didnt really measure it when i was doing it. I just poured it as i thought was enough. This is how much i have left

http://imageshack.us/scaled/medium/1...0513175857.jpg

lol i think i poured more than 4 oz and yes sir it's about $5 - $6. I don't remember now haha.
@Spoofmastafly; Yeah i know how you feel. I was very doubting too when i was gonna do my wheel cuz it had a good amount of brake dust on it. But it turned out great.

:offtopic: @ahfunaki; I love your wheels dood! Might pick up a set when i have money saved up!

Would be worried about scratching the paint/ or wheels.

Well if this is anything like the Optimum No Rinse it shouldn't. People love that stuff.

And here is a huge thread about it at Autogeekonline.net that I'm skimming through right now...

I checked for scratching everytime i dried off and i saw none.

obijack 05-13-2013 07:41 PM

Lol no it was the hair in the reflection of your car that gave it away. Every since mine started thinning I have been picking up on stuff like that.

BlackBandit 05-13-2013 08:25 PM

I don't know about how well these work long-term, but I heard from a bud at a body shop that these rinse free washes can cause headaches if you need to repaint the car. He said the polymers they use can cause a fish-eye affect when applying the paint.

Playaj 05-13-2013 09:19 PM

Shouldn't he be sanding before painting anyway?

ahfunaki 05-15-2013 11:09 AM

Bought some yesterday, used it today. I'm impressed.

I have softened well water where I live and when I wash my car the traditional way when it is even remotely warm outside I have terrible issues with water spots. Washing the car this way eliminates that completely.

I'm going to use the rest of this bottle then probably order some Optimum No Rinse since people really like it.

I recommend giving it a try though! For $7 at Walmart it's worth giving it a shot...

rfinkle2 05-15-2013 11:12 AM

Optimum has the traditional ONR (which I'm a big fan of and loathe swirl marks) and a new no rinse that contains some of their OSW.

I need to try it yet, but never bought anything that I was disappointed with from Optimum.

Thanks for the review OP.

jdmage_mx5 05-15-2013 11:14 AM

@rfinkle2; which optimum products do you use on your matte vinyl?

SLOWHATCH 05-15-2013 11:25 AM

I didn't even know shit like this existed. Going to buy some ONR asap. Trying to talk my brother into getting some with me since he keeps using up my good stuff. Or what I thought was good stuff before this haha.

ahfunaki 05-15-2013 11:31 AM

What else is really cool about these products is that they can be diluted to make quick detailer spray and even clay bar lubrication spray...

So if you're getting the ONR make sure you get a gallon because you can use it for more than just washing...

Actually, I've tried Optimum's newest version of their WOWA sealant on it (opti-seal), but I've been using other things in the matte thread on it.

You and I need to talk detailing supplies. LOL.

@slowhatch, get onr and get optimum's spray wax too. IMO, best spray was available. I'll buy it from you if you are disappointed in it.

Thank you, sir :D

I went ahead and gave it a try. Pretty good stuff for the $8 I spent at Auto Zone. So long as you keep your expectations reasonable, you should find it worth the money.

I don't know how much my results are influenced by the number of times I have clayed and/or waxed my car, but the car looks pretty good after a use.

I'd be wary of mixing a "wash+wax" product for anything other than its intended use. Then again, I'm wary of turtle wax in general.

Well I was more referring to the Optimum No Rinse. That information comes right from the professionals:

Add 1 ounce of No Rinse Wash & Shine to 2 gallons of water to make an excellent no rinse car wash. Soak a microfiber towel in the solution and wash your vehicle with the wet towel. Dry each section with another microfiber towel. There’s no need to rinse! The lubricants and substantive polymers in the formula will protect your vehicle from abrasion as it safely cleans all vehicle surfaces. The polymers encapsulate dirt and cause it to drop to the bottom of the bucket. No Rinse Wash & Shine actually cleans the wash water as it cleans your vehicle! And it leaves your vehicle super slick, like it was just waxed!

Add 1 ounce to wash water made with your regular car wash. No Rinse Wash & Shine’s advanced polymers and lubricants offer more surface protection and slickness than ordinary car soap alone. It acts as a water softener and conditioner to improve the quality of the water that touches your vehicle to provide the ultimate safe wash.

Add 2 ounces of No Rinse Wash & Shine to a gallon of water to make a super-slick clay bar lubricant. Wet the surface of your vehicle to provide a slippery protective layer beneath Opti-clay. After you’ve clayed each section, simply wipe it dry. This solution is as effective as any clay lubricant you can buy!

Add 8 ounces of No Rinse Wash & Shine to a gallon of water to make an excellent quick detailer. Fill up a spray bottle with this mixture and use it to clean and shine your vehicle, just as you would use a traditional detailer. The proprietary polymers bond to the paint surface to protect it from abrasion and micro-marring as you clean. The incredible formula leaves your vehicle extremely slick and glossy, like you just applied wax!

Optimum No Rinse Wash & Shine: clay lubricant, optimum rinseless wash, no rinse car wash, optimum detailing products

Sorry to necropost, but this stuff works great in the wintertime. I think it is a watered down version of the Optimum stuff. It smells exactly the same.

SpeedLife 11-26-2013 02:33 PM

Wait so you just put it with water, sponge your car down, and you don't have to rinse or dry it ?

I use a plush microfiber (one with longer fibers) towel and two buckets. 1 bucket is clean water and 1 bucket is mixed with the stuff. Before dipping back in the mixed bucket, rinse it in the clean bucket. After each panel, buff it dry with a microfiber. You can dilute the stuff in a spray bottle to make a quick detailer to get bird shit and gunk off.

This works best if you don't do it on a completely filthy car.

After u sponge ur car down, dry it with a microfiber towel or something a like. You know what else i do is i bought one of those 2 gallon pump up sprayer and use that. I also have a bucket of water mixed with this stuff and dip a brush in it for if i have to brush off then spray again. Then dry it up with chamois.

Do a small area at a time. Microfiber mitt with the mix the dry it with microfiber towel, go to next area, repeat.
