Aside from taking the physical hard key out and putting it in the door, having your car on seems to completely disable the smart key.

I'm with you on this one.

And how would you lock yourself out of the car if you lock it from the key fob once outside the car?

The port in the center console stays on when the car is powered off. The one below the radio turns off with the car. I wish this was reversed.

If you absolutely have to leave something valuable in your car, Hide It. Pull up some carpet, stash it under a seat. Shit, sit in the engine bay.

Otherwise, should have bought another genwin.

Pull up the armrest console and drop small items inbetween the shift cables, etc. Just pray no one tries to move the car while you have crap in there.

I actually managed to somehow lose my thin lug nut key in there during an auto cross. Heard it banging around and after some investigating and 15 minutes with my super long and skinny fingers I fished it out.

The lock thing is annoying as hell. Girl and I were picking up her car, and forgot her keys. So I started car, and gave her mine. She stayed in town to do some shopping.

When I got home, I couldn't lock the damn car. Every time you press the lock button with the door open it won't lock. Finally was able to lock it by sitting in the front seat, locking the doors, and then crawling into the backseat and out the back door.

The back doors locks don't trigger the auto unlock thing when you manually operate them.

When you turn off the ignition, all the doors unlock - GOOD.

If you or a passenger should open a door before you turn off the ignition...nothing happens. WTF? I hate it when I get to the hatch only to find it still locked.

Yup happens to me all the time. I thought my hatch lock was broken. Even remote unlock won't open it. So now when passengers open door before I turn off ignition, I manually unlock to get to hatch.

Super annoying for airport runs, which my car does a lot

Yeah that unlocking the hatch part does kind of suck...
