(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score I also programmed boost pressure, engine temp, and fuel rail pressure. Those three worked, but the RPM zone is black, no digits at all. I made a support ticket on their website and have had no luck with their techs. It seems pretty clear to me, but they still don't understand what I'm trying to tell them. Does anyone else here have the UG, and does the RPM show up if you program it? At this point, I've emailed them a video and am not hopeful that I'll get anywhere with them. I don't think the alarm will be fast enough to trust, either and without that alarm, I don't need the tach on the UG. Thanks. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score Yes, my UG displays RPM, and with the programed displays. Do you have an AP? If that reads RPM, you can tell them that your car OBDII is not the problem. I got mine for same reason, nice to know engine temp.

| Not Ranked : 0 score also i belive the value has to be set after the action has taken place.... e.g. run the engine to the rpm u want thin go into the menu to see that value and set the alarm (but that may be for older versions dont hold me to that, ill see if i can find that info tho) **we talking see the RPMs at all OR seeing them once alarm values are set just to clarify??? |

| Not Ranked : 0 score Not on the one I have, you just go to alarms, and scroll to RPM and set High alarm. I don't personally use it, but a friend uses the UG RPM high alarm (i set it while he was driving), and it does not go off half the time, or has a delay.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Well, I still don't know what the issue is with this thing, and their tech support guys are absolute idiots, so given that the alarm won't do what I want it to do (safely and reliably) I may just give up the issue. My AP shows RPM whenever I log. The main reason I got this is because it was only $60, so if some nitwit sees it in my window and steals it, it's cheaper than the running off with my AP, and I also don't have to deal with AP about getting the stock tune back for any of the reasons I'd need it back. The way I see it, for $60 I would have just had a temp gauge, and I'd have to install it and pretty it up. With this UG, I have a bunch of gauges (although now I don't trust which ones work and which don't) and it was the easiest gauge installation ever...truly plug and play. Their tech support guy (or guys) are just morons. They remind me of every IT person that I've ever had. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score after reading alil it does say the max value on the RPM for alarm is 4000* and maby this will help... The Alarm thresholds for RPM, MPH and KPH can not be set normally. Please do not change the Minimum alarm value for any of these. If you do, you may restore the values by executing the menu command: Menu --> Alarms --> Load Default Alarms The work around for setting the high alarms is to force the value of the gauge to read the value desired and then enter the menu system and set the alarm. Once Menu is pressed, it locks in the value and will allow that value to be set. For example, RPM would be set as follows: 1. While in neutral run the engine up to the desired RPM 2. Press Menu 3. release the accelerator and allow the engine to idle 4. Go to the alarm setting for RPM. The only value that can be set is now the value of RPM just prior to pressing MENU. For MPH or KPH you will need to be driving at the desired speed. This will require a second person as the driver should never use the menu system while driving. other thin ^that heck if i know' |

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Thanks for finding that 4000 RPM info, Pharaoh. I'm not even going to mess with that gauge anymore. I'll set something else there. Thanks for the replies. I'll give up with their tech douches until another gauge doesn't work. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score I love mine , All my gauges work that are compatible with ms3. I also like that I can clear codes on my car and anyone else's car that is obd2. The only thing that I don't like is the refresh rate. Its only able to go to 0.3 so rpm is a useless gauge. does your tach in dash not work? tapatalk isn't texting so it isn't illegal

| Not Ranked : 0 score Yeah, then I just thought about that....if you set it to go off under a certain PSI it would be going off all the time unless you were WOT lol Maybe set it to go off at a certain value, like 1200psi

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score I think it's only $69 shipped. If I were to have gotten a temp gauge, that alone would have cost at least that much, plus something to mount it in, and the hassle of finding a place to put the sending unit. This UG does that, plug and play no less, and 80 some odd other gauges. It's well worth it, in my opinion. I finally got the RPM to work...all I had to do was set that same zone to Battery Voltage, and RPMs popped up. I cleared all the gauges and started over and it's all set. I'm not using RPM anymore. The only reason I wanted RPM was to set an alarm at around 6200 so it would let me know when to shift. The consensus here is that it isn't fast enough to alert me in time. |
