Used Mazdaspeed 3 tips
 

Hi all, first post here. A little background... i was originally going to purchase a used 2009-2010 mazda Miata but because of how hard it is to find i will probably end up with a mazdaspeed 3 instead. So now here i am, looking at the 2010-2011 used Mazdaspeed 3's. I' am just looking for some tips about this car, such as common problem areas and what to look for when buying a used one. I know these are supposed to be high performance cars so there is probably a good chance the last owner abused it a bit. So how can i tell if its been abused? I just know to look for premature/uneven tire wear, signs of mods by looking at the screws for tampering, leaks, engine oil quality, and engine knocking etc. What else? Also, i know the 2010 is a first year model, should i avoid this year? Thank you!

But in my opinion, for the price of a used genpu, I'd rather buy a new one for a bit more. It's peace of mind. Because I know I beat the shit out of my speed, and when I stock it out and trade it in, I already feel sorry for the next owner.
