Using the off season to prep the ride for next year What's up guys, haven't posted much lately, mostly in my NSFW thread - but anyhow, now that the off season for fishing is here in SC ( I am part of a land based shark fishing team here in Charleston - https://www.facebook.com/RequiemFishing ) , I am going to take the winter months to get my ride better prepared for next season. After a full summer of hauling around multiple rods, reels, my surf cart, bait cooler, and team mates in the genpu, I'm ready to try and get everything that smells and dirty OUTSIDE of the car - minus the team mates - well maybe if I can find a way. First order of business is a new surf cart - Angler's Fish-N-Mate® Standard Cart with Poly Wheels : Cabela's with a Hidden Hitch and the surf cart attachment. Also looking at piecing together a used Thule or Yakima roof rack and going with a Skybox or similar to put all the rods on the roof. Driving with 4-8 surf rods up in your face sucks. Anyone else do any mods to their ride for fishing? |
No I don't do fishing mods |
At least it has a beer holder. http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14...32adac230c.jpg Just waterproof your undercarriage, put some paddle tires on, and install some downriggers on your roof rack. You will be all set for next season. |
Lame. |
I never even knew you could fish for sharks from land. That's kinda cool. I haven't ever "fishified" my vehicle though. Roof boxes are pretty sweet though. I've had them in the past when I used to ski and board a lot. Make sure you can reach it easily. |
