Velocity Factor Racing

Does anyone use parts from Velocity Factor Racing?
Do they sell quality well made parts?
Thanks

which TMIC is the best quality ETS or CPE? Why?

suparobg 12-26-2014 05:05 PM

ya I read it. I will go with an ETS or CPE TMIC since I am installing it myself.
I don't live anywhere near Florida so no chance I will travel the couple of thousand miles to their shop. But thanks for the info.

@suparobg;

Where do you live? Have you tried meeting or even talking to your local Nator chapter?

I think he lives under a bridge...

btstarcher 12-27-2014 05:41 AM

No, I don't think so. He just doesn't know how to search. @suparobg; you need to use Google to search here effectively; it's a much better search algorithm. Click on "Search" at the top and at the bottom of the pulldown there's a space to search with Google.

You've gotten a good start with your mods; why not remove some exhaust restriction and get a tune? The stock tune isn't perfect; an eTune will give you better reliability as well as more power.

I am unsure of what brand and kind of downpipe I need. I was thinking of getting the ETS TMIC first. Then a downpipe after. What parts of the upper exhaust need replacing?
Thanks for the tips on searching though.

I would start with a test pipe. Cheap an easy to install.

Any particular brand?
What kind of gains could that give?
Thanks

btstarcher 12-27-2014 09:02 AM

Just a cheap one; it's just a section on pipe. Nothing complicated, easy to install. The gains won't be nearly as noticeable without a tune. The tune will give you an additional 40-60whp and as much torque as you and your rods can stand.

So a OTS tune from COBB wouldn't work? I don't want to wreck my engine. Do I need a custom tune then?

Thanks for all your help. At least you are not rude and understand that some people don't have all the knowledge in regards to modding.

btstarcher 12-27-2014 11:48 AM

We all went through the same thing; it takes thick skin to survive here.

I would definitely get a custom tune. I've seen lots of people with overboost issues running the Cobb OTS maps. Also, I think Boost_creep's tune gave me an additional 40whp over the Cobb map on my stock engine, and around 60wtq. It's a night-and-day difference. These guys know what they're doing; the tunes they provide are also very reliable. They stake their reputation on their tunes. If you ever go look at the blown engines thread, most are stock tunes or carelessly modded cars; rarely will you see a tuned engine blow, and I'd say almost all of those are the really high power guys.
