visible air bag lines on dash
 

I've started to notice on the dash of my 2011 ms3 that I am starting to see the lines on the passenger side where the air bag would deploy. I never noticed it until recently, and it seems very odd. I have no photo yet, but I wanna see if anyone else has seen this occur

Same here. It started showing right when it started getting hot a few months back.

Started to notice it on my 2011 the other day. Not real obvious but it's there.

same here with my 2012 that only has 5k on it.

Wow... Y'all got me nervous now. I'm gonna have to check tomorrow in the daylight.

im not to worried about it, it is just a spot for when ever your air bag deploy, I didnt even notice it till some one pointed it out to me one day.

I noticed it a bit in my 2010. It's not too visible, but I notice it, yet it doesn't bother me.

I just noticed it this weekend when I was filling up at the
gas station. It was very noticeable from that angle.

What's the shape you guys are talking about?
My 12' has this weird shape that I started seeing on my dash. It's more of a triangular shape if you will. I seriously think its my sun shade burned the shadow into my dash. POS

i had my passenger airbag out in my gen1.. after taking out the airbag, i felt the cover and it was a flexible plastic. i was able to flatten it out a bit and get the airbag to support it better when i put the new cover on..

you genpuers may be able to do the same.

I can see this on my '12 Skyactiv w/5k on it but I dont see anything on my '12 MS3 with 7k on it. I wonder if I take the Skyactiv in and complain if they would replace the dash. Obviously its not that big of a deal now .. But in 3-5 years what if the dash material starts splitting at these "seams" that would be a major issue when looking to resell.

We had a discussion about this back 5-6 years ago on the CX-7 forum, where the line was visible. Dealer and Mazda will tell you to kick rocks, its fine.

Can see it on my 2 week old Pu, but only when the sun shines across the dash at an angle. I'm usually looking at the road when I drive, not at the passenger side dash, though.

Geezus. This is normal on a lot of other cars. My toyota did it, both my honda's did it, hell my wrx was the worst one. Fucking worry warts here.
