Weird Jingle

So I've searched for some input on this with no real answers . The car is a 2011 MS3 basic bolt on mods and the car is running fine . When normal acceleration from a stop through second gear there is a pronounced jingle sounds like loose change . Does not do it when stopped and just giving throttle input seems to only happen when there is a load . Any direction in this I would appreciate .

Where is the sound coming from?

Mine does the same exact thing... I thought it was the intake rubbing on ECU... got new battery box and it still happened.... I've givien up and brushed it off as Autotech HPFP internal rattle.

Coming from some where on the front of the car hard to tell since it only does it while moving or under a load and not sitting still I can hear it very clearly though in the cabin

This would be the weirdest hpfp rattle I've ever hear then lol and that should still make a noise while reving it if that was the case because it would still be building pressure with or without a load . Like I said sounds like loose change .

What clutch you got on the car? May be chatter

Mine happens when I first tap the throttle and happens in the same area of the car. sounds like a coin rattle also....

I know this doesn't help or lend an answer, but I have the same issue so I am very interested if anyone has figured it out...

Not sure if the HPFP is it the problem but keep in mind the HPFP will chatter a little on throttle tip in under load, the key part here is under load aka driving not sitting still free revving.

It definitely doesn't sound like HPFP chatter IMO. The most accurate description I think it sounds like keys rattling on each other, it would scare me a bit if my HPFP made noises like that instead of the sewing machine-esque ticking it usually makes...

I was going crazy trying to figure out a rattle a while back and it was my garage door opener [emoji14]

Aside from that I have a squeak that happens when i apply throttle at low speeds, hpfp rattle, and some other loud rattle that seems to be coming from drivers dash when I'm easing into first from a stop.
Basically I ignore it all at this point

I hate the new tapatalk version and hope its replaced soon

Thanks for the input hopefully someone will chime in eventually as I seem to not be the only one who has this odd noise . I'd rule out a hpfp .

Did it just start randomly?
Or did it start after doing a repair/mod?

Random

Ok this might sound weird but check the dust shield on your exhaust. I've heard of similar issue on newer Ford trucks and audi"s

Andjo 02-06-2015 07:57 PM

Mine always makes a jingle like that when I hit a bump on the drivers side. It has done it since the day I bought it. I have looked but never found it. I hope this was not helpful at all.

It's not the Ford rattle, I had a 2012 escape which my brother now drives and have dealt with the dust shield rattle a few times...

It's a high pitched almost like keys jingling together on the key ring sound (have ruled out the key jingle by the way). It only happens for me right at tip-in in first and second and is usually more pronounced when its cold out.

That's just how it's sounds with mine and also more pronounced when cold and in 1st and 2nd .

Do you have a CAI? When I had mine I had the sound you are describing. Took off that rice and put it on my wifes speed and same sound happened on hers. I think its the mounting point in the fender wall.

Well I don't know then. I'm guessing you checked the muffler bearings already. Good luck dude!

Did someone throw a bell into your engine compartment?

Take a screwdriver and just start taping shit, tap heat shields around manifold, tap shift weight, tap tap tap. Try to find something that sounds similar to what you are hearing. Check cv axels, check for anything touching the hardline. Loose washers.

Borrow buddies go pro, pull off hood, sucky cup inside engine.
