Wider tires would require a fender pull once I get my coilovers on, althoug next time i purchase tires I may go with a 235. I'll get pics up tomorrow, it's just too dark out now. They are privat akzent's...not the best but they look nice and should be fine until I can save up for a set of some mazdaspeed wheels like that one dude was selling not to long ago.

Since when do they need a pull on a Gen2?
At any rate, you're still dumb and doing shit half-assed.

My goodness, Mizzle is cranky today. LOL.

He is right though, 8.5 inch wheels shouldn't need a fender roll, even if they are 19's.

with a 235 or 245 it certainly would, even with the 225 it looks like i'll need at least a small roll once I get the coilovers on. When it's all said and done I'll make a new thread regarding clearance/ rolling and shit.

Coilovers may be a different story.

There is a guy on here running the same wheels I am, 19x8.5 + 45 with springs with no roll.

Mizzle is good peeps, just doesn't sugar coat things and reads quite a bit as well.

You may be the first guy who needs a roll... but I could be wrong.

Well I hope your right, I didn't want a roll at all and thought these were a safe bet but after I put them on it seems it may be necessary.

a.) 19's are dumb anyways. Enjoy having zero traction from a dig and dodging potholes all day.
b.) Others have ran 245's on 18's without rubbing, so unless you oversize your tires, you should be fine... which means gumband tires.. which further proves point a.
c.) I'd be nicer to you if you didn't come in here, ask for advice, then bend over and take it for some chump change. It's insulting to know you ignored our advice after soliciting it and if you think you got some kind of deal, you're wrong.

You may be the second guy to have to roll his fenders, but read this before doing so.

The guy who posted this is in the middle of an intense build (it doesn't sound too easy in the gen2 case):

fender rollin

I think we may be talking about two different stances, but see now there are a couple of guys who prefer being really low had to roll their fenders. (RGZ and silentwolf8).

@Mizzle wizzle is always a PITA to people... Anything he says is true. Anything close to rice, he hates. Just don't understand why he bought a Japanese car honestly.

Either way just do what you want, it's your car.

Actually @silentwolf8 had to roll his fenders because he's running 245's on a 9.5, he's still on springs.

All of y'all are getting so butthurt about what other people do to their cars. Fender rolling is not the end of the world and is most common for anyone who wants to run wider rims. The rears of the genpus are really not that hard, they are not like your typical rear fenders and it will feel like two pieces of metal coming together. Just roll the lip flat against the edge of the fender and you'll be fine.

I like the look of a car that is hammered, but a 9.5 inch wheel is a pretty aggressive fitment compared to what most guys are running.

The 2 different camps form vs. function came together in 1 thread and we all got confused. lol

Yes. And no scratches either. Our Stock rims look better than 95% of any aftermarket rims.

How much is a chunk of change? I'm guessing you got store credit and not cash money.

Geez you guys are getting up in arms over nothing. So what if he got cash instead of brand new wheels. For all of the huffing and puffing most of you do over "function > form", you're getting pretty pissed over some pretty minor scuffing 100% form related. Sounds like the company did right to me by reimbursing him some cash.

With that said, yes, those tires don't fit right and this would all be moot with a 235 or a 245.

If your happy, im happy.

But... you fucked up. No way in hell i would have accepted anything less then brand new wheels with free installation.

@trf5000 is on 19 x 8.5's +45 ... maybe he could shed some light on the amount of room that is left / not left in the well.

BTW, it doesn't matter to me either way... like the post above me, if you are happy, that is all that counts.

You did request opinions though and there are no shortage of those here. LOL

I'm with you.

Clearly the buyer was happy with what they gave him as a refund, otherwise he wouldn't have taken it.

Depending on the amount, I'd probably do the same thing too. You can always get them powdercoated later if the finish gets worse...

50% back on my credit card, you all would have done the same.

And next time I buy tires I'll go 235 and it won't even be noticeable.

I am running a 235/35 tire with the above wheels with no issues whatsover. The only thing I regret is not going with a 245. There is definately enough room in the wells.
