Bought a set of Bilstein B14 coilovers from @CodeMan; and installed them a couple days ago along with a set of SPC adjustable rear camber arms. Everything went pretty smooth except my friend trying to help and stripping one of the front top mount holes. Luckally I have a tap and dye set for just such instances and was able to remedy the situation.

It was much easier to remove the strut assembly from the lower mounting point by spreading it with the factory bolt inserted in reverse and a large washer inserted into the gap.

Currently have the height set to the top of the adjustability range suggested by the Bilstein install papers. I am on the fence, considering lowering the front another ~0.25 inch. Any thoughts? Need to get some fluorescent string to do an alignment, but already the handling is night and day better! Big thanks to CodeMan for his awesomeness!

I'd be careful about lowering too much on those dampers. Stay as high as you can tolerate. I blew my rear Bilstein made dampers on my H&R coilover set twice. (front leaked but never blew) and I was low but not fully dumped. Just sharing my experience.

It's not so much what I did to my ride is... what the tire place did to mine.

Someone got a little happy on my stockers with their impact gun. Complained to corporate and they're going to repair the rim using a third party company that does wheel repair. They're reasonably big in the San Diego area and I've heard good things, but the fact that the tech obviously fucked up and didn't even bother owning up to it really irks the hell out of me.

Apologies for the brake dust.

LOL, yeah, that +1 Came super close to buying them as well. If I was in the States I probably would have.

I've decided to go with the B16s, I figure if I'm gonna put out about $1200 on COs anyways, I might as well spend a few hundred more for the B16s.

Personally I like the height you have it at now, removes just enough wheel gap to make the car look better overall, but not so low that you can tell the vehicles been slammed. I like a balance of a well sorted semi-lowered car. You get a lower center of gravity, a smoother looking ride, without having a harsh ride. I like the 'shoe test' from MCMods, it's one that's held true for most suspension set ups that have been lowered..

So I've been tuning my new "fully bolted" setup which is a catless long ebay DP, 3.5" intake, and a CP-E TMIC. I was having some trouble dialing in WGDC. After 8 revisions I was still over target in the 4500-5000 vicinity and was scratching my head big time. Well, had a thought today that my K04 might be creeping a bit due to the catless DP. Zeroed WGDC, took a log...sure enough, it is. This was taken with BATs in the 130's...imagine if it was colder lol.

So far WHP is in the 275-280 range with probably a little more room to grow (~5 whp) but not much. Kind of expected a little more, but it is what it is...it's summer, shit's hot, and an aftermarket TMIC is still a TMIC. Soon I will resume my 2 gal methanol mix and make some real power.

Love the catless downpipe so much though. The fast spool, the sound, the low cost. It is excellent.

Thank you so much for this post/info MD, I'm looking for as much "fully bolted" information/logs/feedback etc as I can on the K04 w/ most bolt ons. If this POS d-bag MAC Tools representative actually delivers my OSW-SET by the end of this week I should have my catless CS TBE on by Sunday, and will finally get to do my custom tune with Alex in person shortly after. It's good to have these numbers/info from you so I know what to shoot for/be happy with.

I too will be going to WMI in short order, but in the mean time, with our shitty eth-free 94 octane gas I'm trying out in-tank meth w/ 91 oct (w/ 10% eth) to see if I notice any differences overall. Won't be tuning for in-tank meth, but I thought it would be fun to try it out and see if I could notice some differences.

I just put in a 1/2 gal of meth in my current tank of 91 w/ 10% eth (from the pump) and will monitor to see if I notice any significant diffs in KR etc.

You might or might not see some benefit from the half gallon. Personally I would recommend going straight for a 2 gallon mix. The values you will need to put in ATR, according to sheston, who helped me get started with methanol, are fuel density = 0.7482 and injector scalar = 1.08. Those values will get your fuel trims down to normal levels.

One thing I forgot, vdyno's not the greatest at giving an accurate result, but good for relative differences. I was in the 260 whp vicinity with just an intake. So the catless DP and IC are probably worth about 20 whp combined, and all bolt-on's are probably worth 30-40 whp. I think this helps reinforce the notion that the downpipe is not a major restriction on the K04, as people with a test pipe can easily achieve the numbers I'm talking about.

Also, there's one more limitation here and that's my tuning ability. I'm not sure exactly what to target right now with regards to boost. Because of the IC, the car's significantly more tolerant of timing (this was a nice surprise, actually), which makes me think maybe I should run more boost. I need to review more logs of people with similar setups who are pro tuned to get a feel for my best option.

Edit: Took two 4th gear logs on the way home. One had a KR spike in the 3500 vicinity because of overboosting, just ignore the AFR in that region.

It's obvious to me that I really need to switch to load tuning at this point. The boost with this setup just isn't consistent, no matter how many revisions I do, and I'm getting these occasional massive KR spikes, which I attribute to small localized boost errors (0.5-1 psi), which I guess could get away with on my old setup, but now my loads are like 0.10 higher across the board and that isn't going to fly anymore.

I'll try tomorrow after I wash it. I was behind someone coming home today that was burning enough oil that it coated my car. I can't imagine he made it very far, as soon as I saw it on my windshield, I found a way around him.

Plus it started raining just as I finished.

Where's mine my Canajian broshat? I am good for the next change in 2k kms, but there's ALWAYS the future..

I paid $42 for the last 5l 5w-40 Rotella I bought, not including a $7 rebate. I probably shoulda bought more at that price, but I don't put a lot of kms/miles on my car, and I am strict about not changing my oil after at least 5k Kms of driving, there's no way i'm gonna change it once every 3-4 months (considering I put MAYBE 2k kms on my car in that time). There's NO way any oil (or the detergents/friction modifiers) just goes bad after 3-4 months, but the manufacturers of our cars and the oil we use would love it if it was true.

Glad you mofos had fun, still waiting on a super dick Mac Tools rep to get me my fucking shit b4 I take the TBE step. That fecker, gonna use a dif Mac rep on Monday, I bet I get my shit in 3-5 biz days tops thru a rep that doesn't suck his own dick. I would have just bought the set online if I knew this dick was gonna play with himself for so long.

Sorry, I'm choked, this is almost the 3rd week. Gonna phone him and tear a strip off the mofo right now..

Sorry, I'm choked, this is almost the 3rd week. Gonna phone him and tear a strip off the mofo right now..
Paid about 25 cad a gal for rotella and 28 for Pennzoil so not fair how cheap the US is... Oh and the best part is we declared all of it even the boose and they didn't charge us duty! Yesterday was a good day, today will be installing parts on both cars

Recharged the K&N filter, cleaned the MAF, and installed the larger, Canadian washer reservoir.

Wash, polish, wax, and trim black.

I will probably never polish by hand again though. I really need a DA polisher.

After driving around with the Bilstein coilovers for a few days, I decided to keep them at the top of the suggested adjustment range for height. I adjusted camber a few days ago, measuring with a 24" box level with a piece of aluminum bar stock sized to the wheel diameter affixed to it. Went from -2.2deg in the rear to -1deg by adjusting the SPC camber arms. Front is maxed out at about -1.5deg camber using the slop in the bolt holes of the upper strut mounts. Today I setup a sting box and measured/adjusted toe. It was toed in a couple mm on all four corners. I adjusted to get zero toe on all four corners. Handling is improved. It's more responsive now. Doesn't feel like I'm scrubbing/dragging the tires anymore. Should help with tire wear also. Getting everything setup took longer than the actual measuring and adjusting. Should be much quicker next time, now that I've got the whole setup, leveling, and shimming thing worked out.

Finally got those switchbacks installed. They've been sitting in my trunk for 6 months. I forgot they were in there. Took 5-10 minutes to install.
