Thats the CPE shroud. It's pointless on the pu's, but I put it on to cover the clusterfuck of hoses and wires underneath.

Are you referring to the fucked up shroud that covers an inch or two of the rear part of the intercooler?

CP-E gave that one to me, and I'm too lazy to do anything about it.

It's functional for pu's, not one gen1's. While it may cause the factory seal to sit in the fins a bit, it does create a seal.

I installed my Swift Spec -R springs. handling is considerably improved and I cant really say it rides stiff, it just feels much more solid.

It doesn't seal at all for me. The seal sits on the fins of the IC, the shroud sits around the bottom. It didn't come with the shroud that covers the top of the IC that I've seen in other posts.

Yes it will sit on a bit of the fins on the top. Are you sure you got it for the gen2, or did you get a gen1? I had that issue also when I bought it from a gen1 owner.

you better drive a n/a "genpu!" if you plan on using that 5w30 royal p.

Get some rotella or PP and keep your engine happy and healthy.

Man I biggest problem is everyone hates every oil for some reason or another. Asking what kind of oil do you like to use is like asking what kind of soap do you use. No matter which one you pick it's not the right one. Either way thank you for pointing out my ignorance. I will change it out for some Rotella when I get back in town.

Yeah, that is not the gen 2 intercooler. The gen 2 is like you said where it covers the back top part of the IC. CP-E sent me the wrong one at first so I am familiar with both. The gen 2 one will have the shroud flanges welded on higher up on the IC. If you got it new, I would make CP-E fix that ish
