They feel good so far, rocks and dirt stick to them pretty easily. I need to do my brakes this weekend so I'm taking it easy until then.
I chose these over the Michelin pilot SS and the Dunlop RE11 simply because tire rack had an error on there website that listed these for 128$ a tire and I took advantage lol.

Did an oil filter and oil change, Shell Helix Ultra 5w40.
Changed my winter tyres (Bridgestone Blizzak) for the summer tyres (Bridgestone Potenza RE050).
Gave her a nanotech wax coating.

I made a flaming backfire on accident. Was pretty cool, stars must have aligned. Saw it reflect from the car behind me which coincidentally was tailgating me so it worked out nicely.

I assume you experienced an Afterfire. Because you wouldn't want a backfire.

This is some information on the difference.

BACKFIRE:

A backfire is an explosion that's created by an engine that occurs in the air intake system rather than inside the combustion chamber where it is normally supposed to happen. Fuel and some unburned hydrocarbons are ignited somewhere in the intake prior to making it into the combustion chamber or somehow gets blown back past the intake valves. This condition causes a looud abrubt popping noise and will cause loss of power and forward motion and can and will damage the intake tract or possible other parts IE- turbo, sensors, and etc. A backfire is a separate phenomenon from an Afterfire.

WHAT CAUSES A BACKFIRE?
Backfires can occur when running too far of advanced timing, running cams with a massive overlap and having the car not tuned properly for the application as well as just having mechanical valve failure, IE- somehow the valve timing is thrown off or the valves arent seating properly and fuel is push back up past the intake valve during ignition. While there can be more things that cause a backfire, these are just a few.

AFTERFIRE:
An Afterfire, sometimes called Afterburn, is an audible popping sound, individual or multiple that often occurs when the fuel/air mixture is too rich or has a momentary instance of a rich condition. This pop at times can and do resemble small caliber firearms going off. Afterfire occur in the exhaust system post turbo or post engine typically.

WHAT CAUSES AN AFTERFIRE: Richer fuel mixtures are also slow burning. This results in the exhaust gases to have some amount unburned fuel passed on to it as it exits the engine. As it exits the engine, that unburned fuel and any air leftover from combustion mixes and ignites somewhere in the exhaust. Afterfire's are more common where long exhaust ducting retains greater amounts of unburned fuel due to rich fuel mixtures. Afterfiring can also be caused by cylinders which are not firing because of faulty spark plugs, defective fuel injector nozzles, or incorrect valve clearance

Of the two phenomenon's a true backfire is not something any car modder wants to happen. especially a nitrous backfire. An Afterfire is normal and ever vehicle does it to some extent. more pronounced when dealing with higher flowing and free flowing exhaust. but they are common and typically do not pose any immediate threat to the engine and surrounding parts.

Okay so it was afterfire then, my mistake. It's been happening a lot more since I installed the Tial QR. I can do it once or twice when I shift from 2nd - 3rd or 3rd - 4th if I'm at like 0.00 vac during the shift.

Weird though its not VTA, but I do think its functioning a lot better than the stocker.

Installed a JBR OCC. Took a while to make sure I didn't break the PCV valve and do a little minor fab work on the OCC bracket to get it to fit right. I opted to cut a small hole next to the belly pan vent to route the drain line. Looking forward to seeing what kind of crap comes out...

Installed an ETS TMIC, HTP 3" intake, and fuel pump with Autotech internals yesterday. A Corksport racepipe and custom Freektune are to follow.

**I dont have the base map from Justin yet, so I will be on the Cobb OTS stage 1 map.. I know I will need a MAF cal for the car to run well, but will a 2 mile commute to work monday without any changes to the tune be harmful?

Keep out of boost. Car will run like ass but will make it there. I installed my 3" intake at a shop and forgot my ap so I had to run home with the intake on about 8 miles.

Swapped my plugs last night, had Denso ITV22, now I have the NGK step colder plugs all gapped to .027 - .028 and I'm seeing a lot less KR if any at all now.

Next on the list is to check the clicking coming from one of my 2 front wheels.

It's good, the bite is different but the feel is way more linear. My original pads had 100k on them so anything was better than what I had lol

LTR7IX-11 Iridium IX Spark Plug, they're ngk step colder, but they NEED to be gapped since they were super wide out of the box, something like .044 as I measured them.

Initially they are much, better, but time will tell if they remain better after some mileage.

Installed a new MAF sensor as I'm still trying to pinpoint the P0139 and P0172 CEL codes that keep popping up. I've already installed new primary and secondary O2 sensors with no luck. Next is to check for boost, vacuum and exhaust leaks.

The boost leak test should have been first step. 2 would have been to talk with ur tuner. But hey its ur money so just keep replacing parts

Well, I did do a vacuum leak test a couple months back before replacing the primary O2. No red flags, and the multiple codes went away for a good 2 months of daily driving. I replaced the Secondary O2 because I had a new one sitting around from a trade. No change. I didn't mind buying a new MAF because the O-ring was chewed up.

Now I'm set with the task of checking for boost leaks. Time to check all of the FMIC piping and silicon couplers for a leak. I'm going the old-school route via propane to find any leaks. I've done this on N/A cars, and doubt any chance on a turbo car.

That, and I'm replacing the spark plugs as they are due. I also have an endoscope to peer into the cylinder ports. Quite the awesome little toy!

Ordered the Damond trilogy mount set yesterday and got a quote for a custom 3" exhaust over the weekend aaaand still trying to figure out which meth kit to go with. Leaning towards the DO stage2, but it's so hard to pick from all the great options lol...

I would recommend the Aquamist primarily. As that is the one I'll getting as well. It would include everything you would need.

Coolingmist is also good too.

Installed CS turbo 3 last weeks, then the down pipe, followed by a 3.5 bar map sensor. Now experimenting on E85 fuel (maybe 50/50)....... so far so good, no zoom zoom boom
