Okay, so I have been searching all over this forum as well as online in general and cant find an answer or post about what I did. I was purchased the Turbosmart Dual Port Maz Type 5 BPV / BOV Combination as a present from my brother. I see in the list of of BOV that this does not work with stock air box because the BOV is big and will not fit. I got it to fit by unbolting the screw that holds the stock air box upright really close to the original BOV. how bad is this to do? I don't really see an issue because all hoses are fine and the air intake box is just sitting a little lower than normal. My car is running fine and I plan on upgrading the CAI, but is this okay to run in the mean time? My car is stock other than the BOV and I know people say not to get a BOV on a stock car, but it was a gift and I've always wanted a BOV. Any help or suggestions are much appreciated.

I also posted this in the BOV section of the forum, I just did this today and want people to see/ help me out. haha Thanks again

If you know people say not to run a bov on a stock car then why the fuck are you asking, don't do it, our cars are designed to run on a bpv also CAI does jack shit, read more and do your fuel pump before adding an intake. Why the fuck are you asking about this in this thread which is the "what I did to my ride" not a "should I do it to my ride even though I've clearly already know I shouldn't but I want someone to tell me I should" thread.

Back on topic. Washed, buffed and waxed aka spa day

I'm posting this is this section because I did this to my ride today moron. I don't understand why 98% of people on this fucking site go through reading to reply with shit talking. If you don't have an answer as to whether this is good or bad, just shut the fuck up and mind your own god damn business. Do you really have nothing better to do with your day than go online just to talk shit to someone asking a fucking question. This forum is worthless.

I'm asking if having the air box sit without being bolted on is bad. Not for the obvious answer of a BOV not doing anything other than adding a noise to my car. And I said I know people say not to waste money on it, but I got it as a gift and wanna know if having the air box sitting there being bad.

I did give you an answer, it's bad because are cars are tuned for recirculation and it's actually part of the maf calc. But hey if you had actually searched like you said you did you would know that.

As for the airbox sitting there that could put undue strain on the hoses etc, but hey it's your car do what you want

I have it recirculating.... Is having the box sit without being bolted bad. Yes or no. If you know the answer.

The BOV comes with a piece to make it recirculating. Which is what I did.

Thanks for answering my question

Didn't actually "do" anything to my car but since when I compression tested my engine and got virtually perfect numbers at 65k miles, I felt the need to verify my compression tester. We have a 100 PSI air line at work and it read perfectly at 100 PSI when I hooked it up. I won't complain.

Yeah, was leaning on the plastic cover one day and it cracked. Another project I have that I just need to get the time to fix.

@sleeveless; Technical service bulletin, not tab lol

Might be Canadian only, the daytime running lights cause the inside of the headlights to get hazy, so the headlights have an extended warranty until 160,000km.
