Last night I flashed the Stratified E85 Flash Tune after filling up with 4 gallons of E85 and topping off with 93. Didn't get on it on the drive home and the car didn't feel any different. In this morning's commute I was able to wind out 4th gear. I am very pleased with the strong and smooth power delivery with this new map. No knock whatsoever on that 4th gear pull. The commute home later will be the better test though as it is usually hot and humid then.

let me reiterate what I said. I HAVE sent engine light running a car low on fuel. Not just speeds. ive done it on Fords also. There is a chance of sending a low fuel pressure cel light on when running the car out of fuel. the problem is if it throws it again after you you clear it and start it up. Technically they tell you to disconnect the battery when doing the fuel pump which would clear the code anyway. but if you are like me and say screw it, there is a chance of it happening. Always check though.

Yeah it does. Cameras just can't quite capture the paint and body lines of cars. It's a tragedy.

Finished installing the timing component's. It took a lot of pm's to some knowledgeable folks to figure out how to time it with a keyed short block.

I was never good with punctuation. I put a lot of trust in to autocorrect. Thanks I like the gold flake VHT but it was paint and I am afraid it will peel and flake with time. I did it while I was saving for parts. It took me over a year to get where I am. Thank you @kmac; for the recommendation for the head rebuild and @silvapain; , @06Speed6; and @Nitr0EngiE; on the timing advice. The block is sp63 2867p stock cr pistons with h-tuff Manley rods with a keyed crank. I wouldn't of been able to do it without reading a shit load of builds and help from some really awesome helpful people!

Don't worry about VHT peeling. I've painted almost everything I can in my engine bay with VHT Fire Red and never had a problem with it peeling or flaking unless it gets hit.

As long as you cleaned it well, used the engine temp primer, then paint, then cure it at 200* for an hour, it will stay looking beautiful.

Transferred my pilot supersports from my icky "aggressive/stance" setup and put them on the stock snowflakes.

Also found out that the highest setting on my KW v1s is still too low. Tire ate through the wheel well lining (front and top) and the old tire even had a gouge from when it rubbed along the frame under the lining. This was after 4 autox and 1 track event. Contacted KW and they offered part numbers for spring spacers to raise it even higher.

I also changed out my plugs for some NGK 3787. Only 33k, but I was taking off the TMIC anyway, plus planning on getting a tune soon. Cleaned the air filter and, oh yeah, why I took the stock TMIC off anyway. New CP-E TMIC

20160814_150323.jpg

Little bit of a difference in core thickness...
20160814_123613.jpg

Upon install, I managed to lose one, then a second of those damn sleeve washer, or whatever they hell they are. When I tried to place the IC on the mounting studs, they popped loose and into the abyss. I did eventually recover one, but I made a trip to the hardware store to try to find replacements before that.

20160814_133636.jpg20160814_133541.jpg

The original is on the left in both photos, replacements on the right.

The "replacements" were the exact same diameter in all places, just a little bit taller. A Dremel took care of that. I figure there isn't much stress on these particular parts, so it shouldn't be an issue.

Car started up, idles OK, feels like it's bouncing a bit between ~700-750 though. Cruises well and pulls strong. KR stayed below 1, except for one cell on one of the two logs I took. ~3400rpm, 1.26. Could be spoolup/wheelspin though. Then again, I'm an idiot, so who knows.

I think next up on the list is to get a real tune.

Ok, so I'm a little late to post this but I recently picked up a speed 6 last week to replace my car payment on my genpu. Bought it on the cheap because it was throwing timing codes. Did the timing chain and vvt on her this past weekend and decided today to do a compression and a leak down test. Found compression at 200 across the board but found in the leak down at 90 psi, that cyl 1and cyl 4 are a little suspect for my liking.

Congrats on the purchase Joe. I think speed6's are awesome cars and wish I owned one many times.

What % leakdown did you have in those cylinders?

Cyl 1 and 4 were at 74psi cyl 2 and 3 were at 84 psi. Air was escaping right through the oil fill. Possibly rings maybe valve seals but I'll be nice to her for the next year or so and than will be doing a motor rebuild

What happened when you added oil to the cyl and rechecked the compression?

I never did to be honest. It was a baseline more so hoping that the previous owner didn't fuck the motor up rolling around with timing codes for a while

Just became fully bolted on the ko4. Corksport unresonated TBE is pure sex. This has led to the clutch slip mod, highly recommend it!

Silver and stock looking. I was aiming for a sleeper before this exhaust. I saw the videos but there's so much rumble in person. I think I saw you once on Fowler though a while ago. Red with your front end

Clutch slip mod on the K04? are you just slipping the crap out of your clutch? Lol
I have 104k on my oem cutch, first 40k stock then 60k bolted with E85 and now 4k with the S4 and my clutch is still holding up.

So you mean I can't just slip the clutch everyday at redline?! Weird. Yeah man idk. Been looking into it all day. Found threads about just some people being unlucky. Don't know their driving habits though. Been driving manuals for for a while now. Could I have done something? Small possibility, but unlikely. If that's the case I might just look into stock clutch kit with a light flywheel.

Adding to that been researching this all day. I didn't smell anything, but there has been a few that didn't either. It's just weird. I'll post logs tomorrow

Depends on what you mean by fully bolted. My clutch started slipping at 25k. I'm fully bolted K04, but putting down more than 400 ftlbs for a while now. Mine would let loose a little at peak torque, somewhere around 4000 rpm, but then grab again after building a little heat.

Right I'm pretty sure a TBE isn't gonna get you there unless you have meth. Is your motor built?

Installed my 4th and probably last RMMs from Damond Motorpsports as well as a SSP from him. My God it's like I'm driving a different car.

Not only does it have less vibes than my JBR RMM (80a), but it shifts into gear way better with way more confidence than before. The vibes are there but damn, for a RMMS that looks like it would make more vibes it actually causes less. And the SSP is perfect with the stock weight and a 595 knob. I was looking for any reason today to rip it like a madman because of how good the car feels.

Pretty much same experience here. Damond mounts make me want to drive my car hard, not fear driving it hard like with my previous mounts. They are expensive but worth it and so far mine have held up brilliantly.

It almost feels like I am shifting in a RWD/AWD car, very direct and much more precise than the stock slop with any other RMM that I have had on my car (JBR, EFocus, Stock) 10/10 for both, also been hearing that once the mount breaks in it gets even better.

Ordered a few more things for two upcoming jobs. Getting things in order for maintenance was the DM power steering cooler and another set of stoptech street performance pads (friends dont let friends use Hawk pads). I went with the power steering cooler since I have to replace the ps hard line and $90us vs $550cad for OEM hardline; was a no brainer there.

Job #2 is eventually after that and will be done actually by my dealership. I like them and they obviously like me but they keep my car running pretty damn good and one tech loves working on my car. Anyways, ordered more Corksport goodness with the DP and TMIC . As the sig says, I have just the new turbo and exhaust mani left to acquire. If Alex or anyone else from stratified returns my emails, I intend for a sweet Stratified dyno tune. Lex, thats a rando hint to check your work emails

In fact, I want to dyno it now (badly) just to see what the Hypertech puts down with my current mods. Beating two out of three maseratis lately has me wondering and a shit start on the loss still bothers me.. sigh.

Dropped the tc out of the 6 and split the case, you CAN remove the tc without touching the subframe it involves a lift and a poll jack but she will come out

I'm assuming the diff is a different story? If/when you do your suspension, just a friendly word to consider the diff brace/mount as well as camber arms depending on your intentions with your ms6. The diff mount and brace are worth it imo.
