Which model? How do you find the Bluetooth for cell phone conversations? I have an older Eonon and people say they can't hear over the wind noise at highway speeds. I have been thinking about the GA5163F, but am concerned the Bluetooth will be the same.

Its an Eonon D5163z, and yup the check engine lights on for a p2004 Manifold Control Runner stuck open. Can't seem to figure it out. Ive checked almost everything from the solenoid on the VTCS, the actuator and the switch. Only thing left is to see if there is a problem with wiring somewhere.

I dunno. I was thinking about getting one but I'm fine with my stock one. I heard the same things.

I've only had it in since yesterday and so far I'm loving it. Its a better option than say a kenwood or alpine just because it looks factory. It operates smoothly, install was easy and straight forward. You can map out the buttons on your steering wheel. It integrates into your cars system well, the factory radio screen with the temp actually goes off of what the radio is on and even says Navi when you're on navigation. Navigation does well!

I know a couple people who have them, and they use them all the time and swear by them. I have used Kenwood in all my cars just cause I got one free a long time ago, and it worked well. I find the eonon starts to get finicky if you flash a custom rom to it or screw with it like that, but otherwise I like the fitment of them.

For Nav though, I love my Kenwood DNX890 with Garmin maps.

I like the Garmin maps too on the kenwood. I have a kenwood dnx890 sitting on my bench that i got for free, there aren't any maps on it for some weird reason after updating the firmware so i took it out. Don't tell me about flashing custom ROMS ill start messing with that stuff when i probably shouldn't!

I may just buy one from Rock Auto for like $37. Don't know if that's considered "cheap". Or I may just tape the part that's flapping around and epoxy a sheet of hard plastic down there.

I attempted to install @www.cp-e.com;s Tial QR bpv and found that it doesn't fit even with their very own Nano intake. It very clearly is stated on their website that it won't fit with a stock air box or gen 1 with a fmic, of which I have neither. Unfortunately there is no way the filter would have fit on the intake with that valve installed. Thankfully @JP@edgeautosport.com; was very helpful with this issue. It looks like I will be getting the HKS valve instead, hopefully it will fit with CPE's nano intake. I am also waiting to hear from CPE about getting a new tip coupler because the one I have now is being worn through by the oem wiring harness, but I digress.

Have you looked at the GFB BPV/BOV? That's what I ordered from Edge a month or so ago.
Also, I apparently have a fuel leak so I just ordered the CS fuel line and injector seals...one step forward and one step back from BT. ( -_-)

I have/am considering the GFB BPV as well. The GFB valve was suggested by JP at Edge as well (he runs it on his WRX). I don't want anything to do with a ricer BOV, I just want a good valve that I don't have to worry about. I was originally going to get the Corksport bpv until the recent rash of broken springs. @PapaBruno; how do you like your GFB valve so far? My friend has had one on his STI for about 2 years now with no issues.

I also run the GFB as well. It's pretty good. You can make it an BPV or an BOV by turning the valve to your preference or anything in between.

Yup. Like Shadow said, it's super easy to adjust. It may take a little tweaking to get it set up just right, but after two or three laps around the block you should be able to get it feeling good. And if you notice that it needs a little more adjusting, easy enough to do.
I recommend if you do get it to keep the provided Allen/hex key in the car as you'll need it to change the spring pre-load.

I just recently installed my BNR S4 with an EWG XSPower v3 manifold and also replaced my TMM with an Damond mount.

Wqsn`t all today, but in the last four days:
Wheels
Exhaust (catback)
JBR short shift plate
H&R springs
Spark Plugs
Boost bypass hose
HPFP tear down to determine aftermarket internals.

Granted I`ve had it a week today, and most of that was planned before I even took possession. The AP is definitely next, and from there is for another thread...

Not wasting any time...I like it.

Today I installed my new AP V3. Wife is officially off the hook for throwing V2 in the trash.

Well, replacing the high pressure fuel line has certainly been a learning experience. Went from OK, I can knock this out in a couple hours to %*#&$#@. Had to take my front bumper off so I could remove the charge piping because it was blocking access to my TB. All so I could get that last bottom nut off of the fuel line cage. Also, the coolant line clamps I bought didn't work all too well and got coolant all over that lower portion of the engine bay. UGH! Fortunately my GF has a cat so I just threw a few handfuls of kitty litter under there to soak most of it up. After I got the cage off I called it a night. It's Christmas Eve after all. I'll finish the rest tomorrow afternoon or on Monday.

Merry Christmas & Happy Hanukkah, you filthy animals!

Pic of GF's cat wearing a Santa hat and being totally unamused.

Shit like this is exactly why I'm staying TMIC. Fuck that.

The cage is a little bit of a pain to get off but it can be deleted just so you know (it's just there for protection and isn't structural).

Did your high pressure line spring a leak or something? Why the tear-down?

I was starting to get a rich fuel smell coming from the engine bay during cold starts. Seemed to disappear when the engine was warm so figured that I'd ditch the crap stock line and get the CS high-pressure line and also decided to get the CS injector seals at the same time. Those still need to be put in - hopefully I won't need to clean out the intake manifold too.

Anyhow, hope everyone is having a Merry Christmas/Happy Hanukkah.

I would clean out the intake manifold, particularly the area where the EGR tube connects, while you're in there. Give the VTCS flappers a blast of carb cleaner and move them back and forth to loosen some of the oil gunk. Then use a coathanger or something and ream out the EGR connection area. Reinstall with a new intake manifold gasket.

You can buy OEM gaskets very cheap here (I ordered one and compared it to a brand new OEM and it is identical):

Pulled the front bumper cover today, did a few things:

Replaced fog lights with ebay replacements (one of the lenses was shattered) & installed Corksport LED bulbs
Painted the silver foglight bezels black
Painted the Mazda logo black
Replaced the non-functional OEM horn with a Stebel Nautilus w/relay
Drilled out the oem rivets on the lips in preparation for a Bayson R lip

Yet to do:
Drain and replace power steering fluid
Paint area behind Mazda emblem white
Reinstall bumper cover

Yes it goes over everything.

To be fair I forgot to mention. There is about 1-2 hours of moaning and crying about how sucky it is to sew in place. If you are not a patient person with nimble hands I would not try this. Other than that it feels great and looks awesome. I will make sure to let everyone know when/if it falls apart.

Not bad for the price. Still love my CorkSport though.

Reinstall with a new intake manifold gasket.

You can buy OEM gaskets very cheap here (I ordered one and compared it to a brand new OEM and it is identical):

Well it was in NV, but I felt it all the way out here in Rocklin (about 20min north of Sac).

Anyhow, we're getting there. EGR tube is %*(&#$ gross - all gunked up. Man, I really need me an OCC. Any recommendations? Looks like the Damond and Kozmic are decent options.

Thanks for the heads up on that gasket too. I got one coming - should be here on Friday.
Got the fuel line in and was about to put everything together when I thought that'd be a bad idea if I still have to do the injector seals. Good thing I caught myself.

An OCC won't prevent buildup in the EGR system. That's just caused by soot produced during combustion, which nothing will prevent from forming as it's formed every time you go WOT. If you don't want to have to worry about that, you need to buy an EGR delete kit, which is available from many manufacturers.

I am not a fan of oil catch cans myself, however I realize I'm in the minority. The Damond ones are well designed for the most part (the mounting hardware is flimsy honestly, although most of them have that problem) and come with hoses that won't take a shit after a year like most other brands.

Got my Damond RMM installed. Also flushed the power steering fluid and reinstalled the front bumper cover.

I plan to pull the steering wheel tomorrow and start refinishing the leather. I'll put together a DIY for the How-To section.

Did the JBR RSB and reconditioned the headlight lenses today. AccessPort arrives tomorrow. Intake should be here monday or so, then tuning starts. Guess I should probably look into putting tires on it soon....
