Took speedy for a late night drive last night. No problems with my tb bc it was 10c out and with the wind chill was closer to 5c. Dealership declined the tsb while offering me a new tb @ $750 - 15%. They said no bc my car goes into limp mode instead of stalling out so it doesn't fit the tsb description. But no surprise there.

New hydraulic clutch line came in and I can't get the mother fucker to go into the port.

**Edit: Or I'm just slow. Part of the old end of the hose was stuck in the cylinder port...

Sold the speed and bought a CX5-GT 17'...I will miss the torque and fun I had during these 5 years but time to upgrade to something more reliable and more importantly, 4wd.

Well, my buddie who offered to buy the car soft backed out, so I've decided I'm going to keep the car and begin the process of fixing the rust issues and getting it modded.

First move was to ditch the stock rims and I'm in the process of swapping over RX8 wheels with some Cooper rubber. Fine tires for now as I was more interested in getting the car back on the road and especially with the RX8 rims.

The car was parked over winter and I'm not sure if some furry friends decided to nibble on some wires because currently the DCS, ABS and traction control lights are illuminated. I'll have to find source.

Got some Nexen N'Fera SU1s in. Was searching for something different from the Conti's and came across these. Ratings were good on line for a cheap high performance tire. Only thing that I could find that was a complaint was tread life for extended spirited driving, but for $98 a pop on Amazon I said why not

That's also a sign of a faulty wheel speed sensor. I can trip mine at 140+kph but a shut down resets it. Do a search on here for other possibilities.

Ordered a bigger intercooler to replace my wimpy tr6 since the fs section let me down. So the tr8 and tr8l are both back ordered a month since there is a new intercooler coming out to replace the tr8 in the treadstone fmic kits... It's called the tr824. It is the same dimentions as the tr8l iirc 24" vs 22" on the tr8 but with a medium density core like the tr8... so its basicly a longer tr8?

I hate auto suggestion. Next is manifold, already have blow off valve, cp-e TMIC, and Cobb intake. Soon, soon the turbo and exhaust will come.

Intake or exhaust mani or both? If you're upgrading the Turbo, the intake and stock downpipe will be choke points for you. What are you doing for a tuning solution? Access port or versatune

Already have accessport. I'm doing exhaust mani first then I plan to dio full cobb downpipe to exhaust. Intake mani will probably come later. Might flip it

What did I do to my ride today? Bent a rod. LOL. Actually wasn`t today, but recently enough. Kind of a good news/bad news thing. I was already planning on starting the build on my builder engine this week anyway, just wasn`t planning on having to make on the spot decisions (and even then, not really the build. Those parts were all picked out already). She actually still runs, but as of now there is no observation port in the block and I`d like to keep it that way. I had plans to build it myself but with no backup vehicle I don`t want to deal with anything going south on my watch. It`ll be a few weeks but when I get it back it`ll be broken in and on a base map, ready to go.

The car won't stay cranked, has a grinding sound in the timing cover section so I took the valve cover off to take a look at the chain. Slack for days... Did compression test and surprisingly great numbers?? Next will get the timing cover off to see what that looks like. Waiting on timing tools as well.

I was fearing the same for a long time Im addicted to e85! I was lucky enuf to swap out to a built block before i crossed that road. Boosting in 5th a lot and 350+ tq it was going to happen sooner or later. Since i had my sentra i could afford to do the labor of bolting the head down and timing the motor my self. Took me close to 2 weeks to rip the car apart and put it back together by my self. The actual "swap" was done in a few hours.

Breaking it in was the worst. Glad you got someone else to do it.

GL and have fun with the stupid power you can now push.

As I get older I want less and less to do the big jobs in my garage LOL. I`ve done my share of building cars and engines (maybe even part of someone else`s share!). Not going to go buck wild with the numbers. My "unicorn number" will be 465hp/425tq. If we get it there and there`s 20% more headroom I might squeeze for 480 just to do it and dial it back, but if she`s near topped out when we get there I won`t be disappointed.

well MY BNR bent a rod too. lol.....The waste gate flapper rod. had issues with the gate sticking close. scared the shit out of me when my turbo made my engine go from 5000 to 7000 in 2 sec roasting the tires. Thank god for guardian angel. BNR hit 30psi. Got on the phone with Bryan and he said he will send me out a new exhaust housing.

Good news he is working on the external wastegate housing that will be available for our bnr s4s. Might go that route after this. Bryan said to give them about 3 to 4 months

You should do external wastegate, it's fun.

I would like to see that external Wastegate housing since i just have a bracket to have that closed.

Installed the Dm PMM that @Prodigalson; sold me. Not a huge increase in NVH. Barely minimal. I has also DM TMM and CS RMM. Have to say with this combo, shifting feels crisper and engine feels planted.

Just the lens, or the whole housing? If lens, where did you find those!? Mine have started fogging up..all internal.

YESSS I will be going this route after I found the issue with my turbo and I hope it doesn't happen to you guys. I will post pic later today after my phone charges.

Well I found what was making me overboost after taking the turbo out. Rod for the flapper sits in a collar that is tac welded to the exhaust housing. That little tac broke off and the collar and the rod NOW moves as one piece. This allows the rod to move in an out which in turns hits the wall keeps it shut. Not gonna say the turbo is bad but I will talk to bryan and let him that he should look in to that design. I am already looking to buy a new EXG manifold and the bracket to keep the new one shut.
