Not today but sometime last week I popped the hood to check the oil and also to look for the source of a slight smell of burning rubber.

What did I find?

A handheld mastercraft power screwdriver sitting on the various tubes beside my intercooler. Labels peeled off but works fine. Its now my leverage for an impromptu oil change / engine flush visit back to the dealership. The tech left it there after the throttle body and 51r battery tray were replaced / installed respectively.

What's odder is both my dad and I missed it after he wanted to check out my engine the same day.

This wasn't all done today, but I've done quite a bit to my car since I last posted any changes here, including dropping in a BNR S4, a DMM PMM, Grimmspeed EBCS, CS 3.5 Bar MAP, HTP 3.5" intake w/ air straightener, finally filled the vent pod gauge from RPM with a 52mm Prosport Premium Evo Boost Gauge (GIF showing color selection: Imgur: The most awesome images on the Internet), and most recently this last weekend I wrapped my Full Race FMIC charge piping in some DEI Reflect-A-GOLD and also added some rice in the form of some under dash LED lighting from a HDTV kit I picked up during Amazon Prime Day (GIF: Repurposed HDTV LED Lighting Kit, Installed Under Dash of 2012 Mazdaspeed3 - GIF on Imgur).

I don't think I've shared any of the pics of the BT install or PMM...or maybe I have I don't remember.

I sure did. That's what I suspected but I didn't take time to make sure. Guess I'll just have to do without it.

There are not that bad vibes compared to the others that are available.

I have both PMM and RMM and a CPE RMM.

To be honest I didn't even notice any. I noticed them when I first put the JBR 88 duro RMM in, but since then I haven't really paid any attention to the vibes.

Yea with an 88 JBR I'd imagine your nerve endings would be shot so a new PMM wouldn't matter. I have an e focus mount and a trans insert, I'm sure the PMM would make a big difference. Still have engine movement so I assume it's the passenger side.

Engine flush and oil change. Drives a little smoother now.

Got news of both my diff seals leaking. Gonna file that news for part of the suspension re n re. Not sure how bad the diff mount and brace are but after at least 170,000km on them, if I had to replace them I'd probably go with sure again. Ya ya.

Waxed the dirty girl. First time using Chemical Guys Whitelight. Highly recommend it to the silver and white Speeds. If you have a darker color the have a Blacklight wax for that.

CS fuel line sprung a leak when I was down at Streets of Willow with the CA Mazdaspeeds FB group, so I had a brake line holding me over until I was able to get back home and put the stock hard line back in. Be warned if you have the CS line and an EGR delete kit that the fuel line can rub up against the back of the bolt coming through the EGR plate and housing and over time it will cut into the line!

I think it was a Scat Pack model...I can't recall. I was distracted most of the day due to fuel leaking into my engine bay. I'm just happy I made it out of there the same day. It was a total miracle that we were able to find a shop that had a similar line in just the right length!

Rescued her from the dealer today! She's still not up to working order (need new tires ) but at least she's back. Is it weird that I had this terrible feeling of loss without my turbo? Also that's my truck in the back. Thought I'd sell it, but what ever shall I pull the trailer with when my genpu becomes racecar?

They do now. I don't think it was there when I had initially purchased the line back in December of last year. Also, I got their replacement a couple weeks ago. The way their system works it sends to the shipping address where you made your first CS purchase or something like that. Either way I'm going to keep the stock hard line on until I can shave the threads down a bit on that bolt, or until the OEM line gives out. At least I'll have a back up now. Also, since I was in the area, I went to the dealership today and found out that the stock OEM hard line runs $100.

As a birthday gift to myself this year, I finally got them done. $300 for the whole set.

I chose Tuscan Matte Black powder coat (I didn't want a gloss to them tbh).
They came out much better than I had hoped for and am loving it.

Click pics to go to full res versions

I was going to wait a week to get them on but when I got home with them, I noticed my front tires were showing steel belt already

During autox I was hearing loud clunks. Turns out my shorter end links (for KW coils that i reused for my swift/b8) was hitting something in the wheel well, and the sway bar was angled high enough that it was hitting something as well (wear marks on frame and bar). Went back to stock end links and went for a pull, now i'm hearing a clicking that reminds me of a loose axle nut issue my friend had on his FRS. Gotta take it to a dealer now :\.

Also bought a BMW M3

Noticed today on my roomate's Mazda 6 that the sun visors look very similar to the 2nd gen MS3 visors. The difference is that the Mazda 6 visor is extendable and the MS3 is not!

So for about 40 bucks you can pick up some used Mazda 6 visors for your speed that are extendable.

Pretty useless if you have sufficient tint though

Rotated my tires (technically last night, but finished "today") drove and still have a vibration issue. Waiting for new lug nuts for new wheels!

Sent from my pocket computer that has more raw processing power than the space shuttle. But it took people to space...

Nothing appears to be, there's a bulge in one tire and the dealer claims that's the issue. It would appear they are correct. When I put the new wheels on, I'll take the rubber off my stockers and give em a good look.

They were, the stealership said the bulge threw that wheel out of balance. Not putting new tires on them until next year (maybe). I may honestly sell them if I like the BBS. I don't need 3 sets of wheels/tires. If I had a dedicated set of track wheels/tires, I have read a bunch and been advised to go with a 17" tire and I'd probably want something wider than 7.5". Just seems they aren't the storage space.

I survived the horror of a downpipe install. No big hiccups really. Both o2 sensors came right out, which really surprised me. Basically just time consuming. I have a CEL now, which i halfway expected. but other than that, im glad its done. Would an 02 sensor extender fix the CEL? My lower one is basically right up in the pipe.

Replaced my Forge V1 bpv with a Turbosmart Dual Port bov. Quite happy with the results! My inner ricer is definitely satisfied. Also removed my magnaflow catback, and put back on my stock catback with a res delete. The Magnaflow catback was just too damn quiet, even with a catless downpipe!

I'm running it 50/50 at the moment. Seems to be doing great thus far! In regards to the magnaflow, it sounded great, really mean and aggressive, but I'm tired of hearing nothing but induction noise when I get on the throttle. Needs a bit more loud for my liking.

I got my own piping and Magnaflow part number 14267 muffler and I love the sound.

Back on track. Took out my Clarion nx604 Headunit out and also my Guardian Angel V3. Might be selling them idk yet. Also got rid of the Fog in my headlights. Starting to haze a bit up top. Rotated Tires

Went back to stock end links and went for a pull, now i'm hearing a clicking that reminds me of a loose axle nut issue my friend had on his FRS. Gotta take it to a dealer now :\.

Also bought a BMW M3
I like the m3 part. Not the clunking oart.

If there's an autox this weekend, I may come out.

Motor mounts can help with some noise. I have induction noise and vibes, not much to report on exhaust notes sadly.

Hey Marcus,

There's a UBCSCC event Aug 12 this weekend. The most chill/relax group to do autox with and a lot of guys there have had/still own MS3s. Unfortunately I won't be there, i'll be at Area27 in Oliver again. Lets hope those forest fires avoid the race track!

Got the HTP battery box installed last week. Picked it up used with battery from a bay area local. Fits nicely. I'm planning on keeping the ECU located on the top of my fuse box for the time being. Was a little sketchy on the bolt from the back of the EBCS being that close to the battery terminal so I wound up wrapping the bolt with some electrical tape.
