Was packing boxes away in storage and took a look at my stock RMM that I replaced in late December. This is what it looked like after just 3500 miles:



I could peel the rubber at that gap at the bottom away a bit with a fingernail.

EDIT: And as far as what I actually did... bought some super glue and fixed my shift boot (the leather was falling off of the plastic washer/spacer thing that sits under the shift knob). Was a very annoying issue. Might have to get another shift boot if it happens again.

Gen 2 baseline on that dyno is 215whp. They do the tune on the dyno in one session, as many runs as it takes to get everything dialed in. Dyno tuning services from Kozmic is $100/hr. Baseline costs for a MS3 dyno tune on stock turbo are $350 on 93, $400 on E85.

do you plan to retune during the summer or think the OE ECU can compensate for the +50 deg. of summer heat?

The heat is less of an issue, it's tuned conservatively right now, so the ECU should be able to pull enough timing to handle. Though with warmer weather comes summer blend E85 too though, so extra ethanol content to combat the increased knock that comes from the heat.

Installed JBR Rear Sway Bar on the middle setting, huge improvement. Significantly less body roll, and more fun to drive. Always impressed and satisfied with JBR quality and performance.

Finally installed shifter bushings, adjusted my shifter, rerouted my AP cable to the cup holder area, washed and waxed my car and cleaned the interior a little. I also found an aftermarket part failure and will fill everyone in once I hear from the company and see how they're planning on handling it. Oh, and I found my rear wiper arm is broken.... FML

Finally got AP so flashed Stage 0. Gonna drive a bit on it and do some logs before flashing stock Stage 1 and doing the same. My first real major car build so I'd like to log the pickup from each part along the way.

Got my new oil pump, water pump, timing chain, and thermostat in today... Still waiting on my short block work to be done... But while I am waiting, I painted my calipers and installed 50Hp worth of stickers...

From some of the things I have heard and read, a TMIC really isn't worth it. They still heat soak, and if you have access to e85 or meth, a stock intercooler will be able to keep up with a fully bolted speed. Now if you are BT, then maybe that's a worth while upgrade.
In the Chicago summer while cruising with. E85 I can see BAT's 20-24* above ambient and while WOT 10-14* above ambient.

A lot of people are choosing TMICs over FMICs lately. The main things you get are improved flow and a lot less boost pressure drop across the IC than with the stock unit (so more of the boost your turbo makes actually gets to the IM and engine). Personally I think it's worth the upgrade (after your basic, more important bolt-ons).

Cooling isn't greatly improved with an aftermarket TMIC because it's still in the same location, but you get noticeably better response and spool over a FMIC because the air doesn't have to travel as far and through as many bends. Each option has its advantages and disadvantages and it's really is just going to depend on your priorities. I choose TMIC.

I feel that a gen2 will do much better with a top mount over a gen 1 on stock turbo. I do think that with a BT a fmic is still the way to go.

I agree with you. Yes the TMIC still gets heat soaked but it also recovers faster than OEM what I have logged. Also my BATs do stay a few degrees cooler than OEM. So yes there are advantages to an aftermarket TMIC. I take the stance that an aftermarket TMIC is great is you plan on staying K04 for a while and of course a FMIC if you go BT.

From some of the things I have heard and read, a TMIC really isn't worth it. They still heat soak, and if you have access to e85 or meth, a stock intercooler will be able to keep up with a fully bolted speed. Now if you are BT, then maybe that's a worth while upgrade.
In the Chicago summer while cruising with. E85 I can see BAT's 20-24* above ambient and while WOT 10-14* above ambient.!
I did a couple of logs last night to compare to logs I made last week on same map...but had a 15 degree temp drop - so can't compare. There was a boost spike in the lower RPM, so will adjust WGDC.

I am hoping the TMIC will help keep BAT's down in the Tucson summer's - I have no plans for BT. Looking at E85 or meth down the road - 91 is what I have now.

A lot of people are choosing TMICs over FMICs lately. The main things you get are improved flow and a lot less boost pressure drop across the IC than with the stock unit (so more of the boost your turbo makes actually gets to the IM and engine). Personally I think it's worth the upgrade (after your basic, more important bolt-ons).

Cooling isn't greatly improved with an aftermarket TMIC because it's still in the same location, but you get noticeably better response and spool over a FMIC because the air doesn't have to travel as far and through as many bends. Each option has its advantages and disadvantages and it's really is just going to depend on your priorities. I choose TMIC.

Installed my clutch and flywheel. Replaced the d07 with a d10 nozzle. After I finish this shit I'm taking, down to garage to install my braces, slap my rims on and head to the car wash tonight.
