What... THE FUCK On my way home, some guy pulls up next to me and motions for me to roll down my window. I roll down my window and he asks me, "do you know your license plate is missing" . My jaw drops and I park my car...sure enough my rear license plate is gone. Stolen. My sweet, custom tags are probably going to be retired and I can't use them anymore. So if anyone sees a car OTHER than a red genpu with a rear tag of G0SPEED, run them off the road. |
You're crazy as fuck if you think I'm going to look through other threads to find out what state a fucking brownie lives in to help find some vanity plates. |
Notify the police if you haven't already. |
lay off the roids brownie faggot |
People don't steal plates like that to put on their car. They steal plates like that to put on their wall. They're gone, buddy. |
My guess is that the guy who notified you is the culprit. Probably stole it and then waited for you to leave so he could tell you and see the look on your face. |
The worst part about this whole thing, is that I just renewed my tags (200 bucks here in MD) approx 2 weeks ago. |
report stolen, claim on insurance, get new tags/plates |

damn dats crazy. you must live in the hood |
Times must be tough to be stealin' license plates so you ain't gotta pay dem monies to registrate yo ride. I thought of getting custom plates, but stories like this make me think otherwise. Good luck OP but my guess is, you're not gonna get 'em back. http://knowyourmeme.com/i/000/052/81...gif?1275684729 |
Most plates are stolen for the renewal tag.. espically if it cost $200 to renew. |

I never thought about that, the plate itself is too obviously a cop beacon (cop runs plate through computer, especially a custom one), but I can see some enterprising criminal using an xacto to lift the sticker off. |
when i got my first car and registration sticker, my mom told me to slice lines in it with a knife after i put it on the plates so that in case anyone tries to take it off it comes off in pieces.....and been doing it ever since. although i didnt think people would actually jack the plate |
lmao @ your sig |
OP, I would just go to DMV and tell them one of the plates got fucked up, and have them make you a new set with the same numbers. I am sure the theif just got it for his wall and not to use on his car. |
I had a guy steal a plate off my car too 8 or 9 years ago. They probably stole mine just for the sticker. The funny part was I drove all over downtown Atlanta and didnt get pulled over once by police. |
report it stolen and go to DMV with the report and they will replace for a small fee $18 to $36. then go to lowes and get 4 ss security bolts, 4 locking nylon nuts, 8 over sized washers and a strip of aluminum, I use angle on mine(cost under $10). Cut the aluminum strip to the length of the plate and drill hols. Drill the 4 hols on the bumper and secure with the hardware. If you got a big stereo use rubber washers in between the plate and the bumper. good luck |
they make security bolts which would at least slow down the asshole trying to steal the plate... like this, http://www.autoattire.com/locharkit.html or even an allen bolt with the center pin, makes it difficult enough that they won't just unscrew it with a Philips and walk away. these ones are even better, because it's some random tool to remove them: http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/web...ci_sku=5015324 |

The tool to remove them is like $12 though. I guess if you love your plates (and will eventually take them off), it's a small investment. |

If I can't, I already thought of new custom tags, and I will get those theft deterrent bolts. The front tag is still there, mostly because it takes a wrench and a screw driver to get it off. |
Maybe it just fell off. On a sidenote, it doesn't really matter if some shithead stole the registration sticker anyways, the second the DMV return comes back on the computer, the first thing you see is the registration year of the vehicle. My vote is still "fell off". Why would anyone want that plate anyways? |
