So I wake up this morning and look out of my apartment at my car. (Like I do ever morning) and I notice from my thrid floor window the hood looks crumpled. So I go down and look at it and sure enough its cracked to shit... im just pissed because I heard it get hit this morning at like 630.
I heard a loud bang and woke up..didn't thiink anything of it and went back to sleep. It also pisses me off someone in my building smashes into my car and doesn't have the decency to tell me. Oh well just needed to vent. Peace out.

asall667 10-02-2011 12:20 PM

Dude I would be flipping shit right now you seem too calm.

On a side note, if I see a genpu I also would smash that hideous front end :chairshot:

adlpb 10-02-2011 12:44 PM

That sucks. Hope your comprehensive deductible is not too high.

ArcticSpeed3 10-02-2011 12:45 PM

Same shit just happened to my buddies brand new BMW's hood. I guess ppl don't like with a 22 year old owns a $50k BMW.

mysleeper6 10-02-2011 12:46 PM

Any incriminating evidence left behind? I'd be awake at 0630 next Sunday and see who's up and about to thin the pool of suspects...

2008speed3 10-02-2011 12:55 PM

looks like your genpu needs rhinoplasty

I was pissed as shit when I first discovered it. Then i filed the police report and called my insurance company. I can't do shit until my agent calls me tomorrow. Pot has been helping me deal with it. haha

Not that i've been able to find. There is a a shitty ass van with a fucked up bumper today that i looked at. It seems like the right height/damage but the vans a total piece of shit and there's a 90% chance it's been like that for ever.

theschrum 10-02-2011 01:21 PM

What a doucher.

andrewpiro 10-02-2011 02:40 PM

@wankular feels your pain.

Vansquish 10-02-2011 02:51 PM

My gf had something similar happen to her car . . . and no insurance claim had to be filed in order to get it paid for and fixed. Here's what we did:

We looked around for cars with matching damage and paint missing, managed to match the car that hit her car to some turn-signal lens fragments and called the police to report it. The cops showed up, looked at what we had, bagged it, called the owner of the car after tracking him down and notified him that:

1. The incident occurred on private property
2. because it was on private property, it wasn't really something that the police would normally be able to do anything about EXCEPT
3. He didn't leave a note admitting responsibility. As a result, since the damage was a large enough sum, it was a police matter.

My gf then simply mailed a letter to a neutral mediator at city hall, city hall served the guy who hit her car with a notice that he would be in court/jail if he didn't pay the amount that was assessed.

The guy didn't have insurance to cover the accident, so he paid up. I fixed her car myself and she pocketed the money.

DwightS 10-02-2011 02:55 PM

where are you located? I have an extra front bumper sitting in my garage.

jimmy 10-02-2011 04:53 PM

i had the same shit happen to my old mazda3. the messed up thing was that it happened at work...in the employee parking lot. never caught the fucker.

OmgitsSexyChase 10-02-2011 05:42 PM

I looked all around the car and couldn't find any hard evidence. Who ever ran into doesn't live in the building, becuase they all drive small cars. since it up so high, it looks to me like a truck or a hitch got smashed into it.

Sounds like you guys got lucky in your case.

triphop631 10-02-2011 06:08 PM

that sucks...good luck finding out who did this.

Southernace76 10-02-2011 07:19 PM

Not many people are up at 6-630 leaving an apartment. I'd wake up and see who gets in what and drives off during that time span. When they get home, check out those vehicles.

Looks like the corner of someones bumper rubbed up your grill and smashed at the center. A truck or hitch would have done more damage IMO based on the sound you heard.

rghispanic88 10-02-2011 07:49 PM

damn, sucks bro.

just wake up at around 3 in the morning on a week day and smash the windows of those vehicles who might be at fault.

you'll feel a lot better

cesaros 10-02-2011 07:58 PM

hahaha, damn that sucks.

fuck getting evidence, insurrance will cover it either way...don't waste time trying to hunt anyone down.

Wolfgang5884 10-02-2011 08:10 PM

wow, that's some screwed up shhit

if he claims it on his insurance, he'll have to pay a deductible. if it's someone else and he can prove it, they pay. a few hundred bucks is worth looking around.

file police report, hit and run. police rule it was actually a hit and run...insurrance pays for it..did that for my old dodge truck. Or use your 1 time accident forgiveness that 99% of insurrance companies offer with full coverage.

my insurance company has a reduced deductible for hit and run.. but still gotta pay. 1 time accident forgiveness works, tho'..

I've never even heard of accident forgiveness other than from AllState, and you have to pay an increased premium to even get that benefit from them.

cesaros 10-02-2011 09:47 PM

I get accident forgiveness through geico...and I had it through USAA...neither make you pay more (that the point of FORGIVENESS...)

Was curious so I did a little research. You only get accident forgiveness through Geico if you've been with them for more than 5 years, and USAA's site says "Get accident forgiveness for as little as $1 a month."

breakfstincluded 10-02-2011 10:00 PM

If you post this on 247...

They will move it to the appearance mods section.

1$ makes sense...that might be why I never thought i had to pay.

and good job researching geico...even though you're wrong.

I slid my jeep into another car in wyoming last year, a month into having geico...guess what :D accident forgiveness...no deductable or increase in premium...and pssst :D guess what...I don't pay for it either.

idk why you're arguing, eat your vegitables.

Delphie 10-02-2011 10:18 PM

I'm not arguing, I was just curious as to why I had never heard of it so I did a simple Google search. Also, if I'm wrong then someone should probably tell Geico.

Not sure why you're getting so heated over this. Do you talk to people in real life like that when they try to have a simple conversation with you?

cesaros 10-02-2011 10:23 PM

i'm not heated..thats why I put smiley faces in my post.

its ok cupcake.

cesaros 10-03-2011 01:23 AM

sixxerroush 10-03-2011 10:31 AM

that sucks man. i park as far away as possible from people on campus. 2 weeks after i got my new stang a pt cruiser decided not to cut the corner as tight as they should and scratched the crap out of my front fender. didn't find them till after i made my claim. lets just say there aren't too many cars my color rolling around here in kansas and a grabber blue streak on your front fender makes you pretty guilty. just filed and be done with it imho

wankular 10-03-2011 10:35 AM

About a month ago I had someone back into my car, $2400 damage.

Same shit, apartment dwellers with fucked up work vehicles they don't give a shit about. The cops told me to piss up a rope because it was on private property. I basically hate and distrust everyone at my complex because that shit happened at 5:00 PM on a Saturday and apparently nobody saw anything.

dooderek 10-03-2011 10:44 AM

That'll buff out

Yeah, that's what pisses me off.. Friday night i had a few people over (Maybe 10-15) from about 9-1015 on Friday night. Left to go to the bars, came back and everything was fine. woke up hungover as shit Saturday morning. Looked outside and my car was fine.

When the cops show up Sunday morning when i discovered the damage. The lady who lives below me.. tried to tell me it happened on Friday and my friend hit it . (which obviously didn't happen.) She just seemed shady as fuck, like she was covering up for somebody. I wouldn't be so pissed if somebody came and actually admitted doing it. But whatever.

Raider 10-03-2011 10:57 AM

Looks ;like the paint is ok. Take of the bumper and grab a hairdryer. Warm up the area and try to push the dent out, it might come out completely. Then just slap on a new badge.

Wildfire 10-06-2011 09:39 AM

Looks like a fat chick sat on the front. Sniff the area.
