What order should I install these mods? Ill be installing a tmic, bpv and step colder plugs next weekend hopefully. And since I'm not that mechanically inclined, I'd like to install one, test drive, install the next, test drive and so on. Just so I can narrow down any problems I may have. Is the order for these mods important if they're all going on the same day? Fuck it, don't be nice to me. Be a dick. |
I'm big on doing installs one at a time for the same reasons you mention. But, in this case, there are few things that can go wrong with installing plugs and you have to remove the stock TMIC to get to them anyway, so, I'd make an exception and suggest that you do it in the following sequence.: 1. Remove stock TMIC (with the stock bpv) and then remove the plugs. 2. Carefully gap the NGK's install them. 3. Remove the stock BPV from the stock TMIC. 4. Put the stock BPV on your new TMIC. 5. Install the new TMIC withj stock BPV and connect all hoses, clamps, being sure that everything is buttoned down securely. That's it. Unless your stock BPV leaks, sell the Cobb BPV or return it for credit. The stock BPV is superb. If and only if you can establish a problem with the stock diverter, then you can install the Cobb one later without having to remove the TMIC. |
Thanks for the detailed post. I'm going to go ahead and install the bpv though. I plan on getting a pretty aggressive tune and will probably go e85. I'd rather just not have to deal with any leaks in the future. And plus I hate selling stuff. |
As far as the stock BPV goes, I'm running 20-21psi on a gt30 turbo and have no leaks. I have tried both an hks and a turbosmart. Didn't like either of them as much as stock. |
I can honestly say that MY stock BPV sucked donkey balls. on a stage 1+SF it would lose boost at 3/4 throttle and up. y'all are lucky that your stock valves are holding. |

As easy as these mods are to install, they still require some previous experience. Make a thread in the Nator TX section, someone will be willing to help. We have a great community here, use it. |
my stock bpv would not hold my gt3076 24psi, tired and it leaked around 21psi. |
