What would you do if you could restart?

2 Attachment(s)
Whats going on everybody! My name is Jordan and as of yesterday I am the proud owner of a MS3 Gen 2! I can't wait to unleash some of the full potential of this car! I know its best to research all mods yourself before pulling the trigger but I wanted to know what you guys did to your car first. Also what would you recommend that I do first. Quick Intro about me, I just finished my associates and i'm transferring to CSU monterey in August, during school last year I worked 2 or 3 jobs, being a junior golf instructor for a growing program, online marketer for a local golf shop and helping my dad's video company film wedding, music videos, car shows ect.. So that's me! Looking forward to getting to know you guys and let me know what you think about the MS3!

P.S. If you're a troll and have no input on your mods then troll somewhere else.

Should have stopped before the end of that first sentence.

The first thing I did was read. Then I got my car. Then I used my knowledge to buy parts in a logical order.

You've already skipped step 1 and jumped right to 2, I suggest making up for that mistake by employing step 1 now.

DaUberSchwebel 08-02-2014 01:33 PM

"What would you do if you could restart?" Well I'd post this in the new member welcome and read my welcome mail. Then I would say welcome to the forum.

SIXual Panda 08-02-2014 01:39 PM

well, i know this is in the Gen2 forum, but if i were to restart.. i would have bought an Evo. lol

JgamB 08-02-2014 02:31 PM

You ain't the boss of me bitch. go make an intro thread. it'll be a better way to keep the trolling shit at bay since we're not allowed to do it there. Also, don't talk about doing research and then ask people what they've done with their car. Kind of defeats the purpose of reading up and shit.

I gotta poop.

Cheapspeed 08-02-2014 02:53 PM

Buy all the mods for a larger turbo from the get-go.

rbflurry 08-02-2014 03:23 PM

Wish I would have bought a bigger diameter intake rather they wasting money on the stock size.

Samesies. tee hee

MBalik 08-03-2014 05:43 PM

If i could restart? Buy a gen juan and save 10k instead of a brand new gen pu.

As for everything else... Go read man

wake2011 08-03-2014 06:27 PM

Step 1. Read
Step 2. Read some more
Step 3. Put down the credit card before buying parts and read some more.
Step 4. Once you have completed your reading sit back and then skim through all the material once more.
Step 5. Start by answering this question..."What do I want this car to be used for?"
the answer to that question will allow you to travel down the appropriate route for moding...if you read and covered all the material available to you...

For me, I read...read some more...then read even more. After that, I said I wanted a weekend autocross and road race build and wanted to limit my platform to 450 WHP. Then my build began.

One thing I would change...I would have built the motor first and worked outwards. that's my .02 enjoy.

We cant tell u what u should do first, because 4 all we know, ur plans could b 2 bag the bitch, slap some lambo doors on the bitch and paint flames down the side. Figure out what ur goals are first and then u can implement a plan

alaskazero 08-04-2014 06:00 PM

Fuck a restart! :nono:

This isn't a video game where you die and can start again!:damnit:

SpencerC 08-04-2014 06:15 PM

Dang, I was excited for this thread because I like the thought of having a conversation about "if you could restart your mod-path from the beginning, what would you do different" because there could be sound advice like, "i would not have bought a stock size intake" or, I would not have bought the Toyota Injector Seals" or, "I would have done my Downpipe before my catback", maybe " I would have done all my mods individually spread apart instead of all at once so I could see the gains" "I would have started with an e-tune after just my intake" who knows!

Granted most of this info is spread across 100 threads that you can search for, but the idea of making one thread for it would be cool. Instead it's a welcome thread in the wrong section. Dang.

Quick Intro about me: I just finished my Associate's (You need an apostrophe here because it denotes a degree belonging to someone who has gotten such a degree. Without the apostrophe, it sounds like you've got degrees for some indeterminate number of associates.) and I'm transferring to CSU Monterey in August. During school last year, (A comma should follow an introductory phrase.) I worked 2 or 3 jobs: being a junior golf instructor for a growing program, online marketer for a local golf shop, and helping my dad's video company film weddings, music videos, car shows, etc. . . Welcome, Airhead Jordan.

You started off well, but once you got to the third sentence, everything suddenly went downhill.

As for your question, the answer is simple. I do restart, every day. All I have to do is push in the clutch and turn the key.

If you're in this for the long haul, read your welcome PM, then read the links contained therein.

crankshaft 08-04-2014 07:08 PM

Restart?
I would have bought something for cash.

I'm not sure I like your implication that Lambo doors aren't awesome and don't belong on every vehicle made.
Actually, every THING made. I need to find a scissor door kit for my house.

cshunter 08-05-2014 07:42 PM

I wish I would of tightened the bolts on the wing. Tired of hearing the one I lost down in the hatch.

tommyboy 08-06-2014 04:24 PM

I would not have bought the CS DP since i went BT and it would no longer fit. Corksport is great but the DP issue with BT sucked.

I really wish they would fix that as I feel that their design is the best on the market.
@Spencer@CorkSport; make it happen.

That's what I'm doing too although I bought the car before reading this forum.

Definitely read, read read, then buy.

However if I could do it all over again I would buy a light gray full body wrap to prevent the little rock dings. I live in an apartment without covered parking.

PapaSmurf 08-28-2014 09:16 AM

I would of bought an LSx equipped vehicle.

InkedInspector 08-28-2014 09:33 AM

As another mentioned, I would have paid cash for something. After my two mazdas are paid off I'll never finance a car again.

Shampu 08-28-2014 11:29 AM

Would have bought a 5.0 or an evo...

But if we are staying with the same car
I wouldn't have bought a stupid stock sized intake either, although i was hammered when I ordered it in my defense.

SpeedMazda13 08-28-2014 06:31 PM

Note to self: don't buy parts when drunk...Wait, I don't drink. Does the same rule apply for wiid?

Josegarcia020 08-28-2014 06:34 PM

I would have reread and made sure on mods i wanted before throwing out cash.

SpeedMazda13 08-28-2014 06:41 PM

Hmmm..If I could it all over again I wouldn't have married my ex.

JayBeeL 08-29-2014 02:59 AM

I wouldnt have bought Corksport pieces from a local corksport sponsor because he doesn't know what customer service means.

Would also try to blow my K04 as soon as possible... :X

ledfootrob 08-29-2014 03:10 AM

I would have pulled the rods and pistons when car was fresh and installed forged. Now I could rest easy while beating on it.
