60 here...I wanted one before, but couldn't quite swing the $$, so I settled for a reg 3. This time I said I want it and I got it! It's my third 3 since 2006, and they just keep getting better. Couldn't be happier.

19, and this quote is relevant:

No baggy pants, no retarded half sideways hat. I don't listen to rap, I'm not into hellaflush, and I'm not a cocky little shit.
Got it because I wanted a manual "Go fast" car as my second car, and was leaning towards an SI, only had 16.5k in hand, but then this beauty came out of the sky and into my driveway. I couldn't resist.

24 here, picked mine up right at a year ago.

25...picked mine up in Nov 2010. Loving every bit of it- this car has the best balance of luxury and sportiness that u can buy for under 30k (in my opinion). I researched comparable cars: EVO...STI...Volkswagon....MS3 is faster the Volkswagon, plus they break down. EVO/STI - faster then the MS3 - but not by that much, and their interior's suck including their gas mileage, plus their trannies go out easier.

I also dont wear my pants at my ankles, and I dont have stickers all over my car, or do anything stupid of the sort.

I'm actually a cop - if you can imagine that :firedevil:

25....picked it up two weeks ago. It's my daily driver so I'll be content with a turbo back exhaust, intake and tune, some shifter parts and some mounts, and some minor aesthetic mods like tint and lights. Have 4 years and 11 months of payments left, need it to last!

nkaltso 02-20-2012 06:33 PM

38 when I got it last month, and the wife pulled the mid life crisis on me also

Well am almost the oldest, bought my car last summer at the age of 41. Turned 42 shortly after that. Also have two kids which are 11 and 7 years old. Can't squeeze them into a Camaro very well. This car has been probably the funnest car I've owned so far. Adding alot of mods while trying to keep a budget. Not easy !!! Mid Life crisis has came up by the wife several times, but I think it is the need for speed is the real answer.

speed3sb 02-20-2012 09:55 PM

Was 33 looking at sti's, there was a mazdaspeed dealer down the road...I went in and came out with an 09 speed3 and havent looked back.....Love the Ms3!

Haha, I'm 25 and I thought the same thing... I was modless for the first 6 months, not on any forum ,just liked the car and have always liked to drive fast.

About a year after purchase I got an intake, and ever since then its been an addiction.

You WILL, I repeat WILL get into modding. Either stay stock or you're done for. (in a good way)

haha dude, that is basically everything mod wise. turbo back gives you an upgraded DP and CBE. new intake gives you SRI/TIP. since you are doing the entire turbo back, you are going to HAVE to do fuel pump internals and a Cobb AP (which you'll need for the tune you said you want to get anyway).

"some shifter parts" = plate, weight and anchors. "some mounts" = RMM, TMM, PMM

only thing you didn't mention was a new TMIC or FMIC.

I'm getting a TMIC too :lick: And boost tubes hahaha.

I guess that is everything, minus BT, which I suppose I would do if the stock turbo ever blew. Hopefully going completely bolted doesn't destroy its ability to be a reliable daily driver.

hahaha yeah, so you are doing it all. you'll be fine, those mods will be better for the car anyway. just be smart.

21 couple of months after my deployment got it last year

mroclimbr 02-24-2012 11:24 AM

49. Not a mid life crisis. More like an OPEC crisis. I'm a contractor. Used to get a new truck every four years. Paid off my current truck a couple of years ago, been waiting for truck mileage to improve....it hasn't. Needed a write off, MS3=station wagon=can haul hand tools=drive it when I don't have to carry a lot of shit=;-)

jv83 02-24-2012 11:51 AM

28 bought mine a year ago tomorrow

Bosox 02-24-2012 04:36 PM

When I was 17 I bought myself a 1984 Renault Alliance. Then I discovered that they made A Renault GTA which was a bad ass version of a Renault Alliance (I know, I know, but it really was). I wanted one so bad (I finally got one when I was 26). Ever since then I have had a thing for hopped up version of regular cars. I bought an 03 Nissan Spec V, then an 06 Honda Civic Si. At 38 I finally decided it was time to get out of boy racer cars... So I went and traded my Si in for my MS3. I guess I wasn't ready after all.

Bought a 2012 last Oct as my 50th B day present to myself

bspau45 02-27-2012 08:46 AM

I'm 20 and bought my Speed3 last October. I first saw the car in an article in Car and Driver. I was 19 and sitting in Tate Boys getting new tires on my Cobalt Sport. After reading that article, I knew it was my next car. I HAD to have it. Especially after test driving it numerous times... lol. So after a year and a half of busting my ass off and saving some money.... there I was driving away in my genpu. I have a wife and a 2 year old... its a perfect family car ;) as you all already know.

lilred 02-27-2012 10:44 PM

23 wanted one for years finally got it few weeks ago and can't stop reading about it and driving it every chance I get.

Naaman 02-27-2012 10:50 PM

I'm 22 now, had the speed3 for just over 3 years. Traded up from an '05 MZ3 after lusting after this car for years. Couldn't have been happier!
