3200 as Eric said.

and dont just drop the clutch, but dont ride it either, its a tricky thing to get right, but you should be able to get off the line quick with just a chirp(again depending on the tires and mods)

The rpms dont matter as much as how well you feather the clutch. Id say shoot for 2800-3600. Thats what works for me anyway.

I can never feather the clutch on launches. When I have tried in the past its been just so on/off with the clutch for me. So I just dump it and control my wheelspin with the throttle. Usually does the trick for me. I only launch at the drag strip on my drag radials. On the street I only do 20-50 rolls so no need for launching.

Lol @ launching a FWD vehicle. The only way to launch a MS3 is to go with racing slicks. Anything less will be less than stellar.

I could never get LC to work for me. I always either fried the tires or the clutch. I find that going to about 2500-3000 and a quick feather works just fine for me. Also, not quite going WOT in first will help. Going like 85-90% will pretty much control the wheel spin. I've got it down to the point where I'm almost as fast off the line as my buddy's WRX (With COBB LC). Really it just takes alot of trial and error to figure out what works best for you personally.

Usually when I'm racing, it's to ~100mph on a short stretch of 4 lane road that really can't support going any faster than that or there won't be room to stop. The turnpike by my house, though, has a nice ~2 mile long stretch of flat, straight road right by the exit I get off at when coming home. And as a bonus, there's no place for a cop to sit along it on either side, or for another ~mile or so before hand. When I'm going for high speed racing, that's where it's done. On a side note, a few years back they removed the tolls there so it doesn't even cost me anything to get on and off to race . Generally this is the only place I can get over 100mph safely (if you want to call it safely) anywhere around here.

2800-3500 RPMs are the ranges I have tested. Iam going with 3200 right now and seems good. Gonna keep on workin on it until I get it right where I want it. To be honest I think it depends on you and what feels most comfortable. Good Luck!

If you are getting off the line as quick as your buddies WRX with LC he needs a serious driver mod. Your average EVO/STI/WRX can pull 1.8 60' on the street all day. A good 60' launch on the MS3 will net you a 2.2 at a well prepped track.

I out launch a lot of the AWD cars at the drag strip here in AK on my drag radials. I've gotten only a handful of sub 2.0 60ft's. I pretty much chalked it up to most AWD guys here in AK can't drive worth a damn.

I meant he's using LC. If I use LC I just fry the tires. Then again, I need some good tires. I'm still on the bald-ass stock tires that I abused the fuck out of.

That's the issue. In many AWD cars it relatively easy to bog it off the line and have a terrible launch but even a decent launch in an AWD car will not be touched by even the best launch in a FWD car assuming street tires on both.

By the way have you seen a maroon CTS-V up there? My brother said he saw a GenPu running 13's.

With LC his car is capable of a 1.7 on street tires. The best you could hope for is a 2.2 or half a second slower to the 60'. Your friend is having trouble launching or has no idea what he is doing.

I didn't say I was as fast or faster. I said almost. Quit trying to tell me what you think I don't know. Trust me, I know. On paper his car launches way better, i know, but I'm telling you how it went. He only got like 1/2 length on me off the line last time we raced. And all the other times he wasn't much better. I probably had about 7-8 lengths on him at ~120mph.
