This happens to any "performance" oriented vehicle when not tuned properly. I've seen plenty of "ZOMGBBQ my engine blew guize" threads on here as well.

If Mazda ever made the Speed3 in AWD it will kill the need for Subaru.. but they will never make the speed3 in Awd. As it is a stock Speed3 destroys stock Wrx/Sti's all day. By making them AWD this car we be ultimate!

And the market Would change entirely, as the car's price would increase at least $5K.
Also, I'm highly doubtful that Mazda would put that much effort into developing an AWD system as intricate as Subaru's Symmetrical AWD system.

Agreed. Subaru has been in the AWD business for what, 30+ years? I don't think Mazda would bother trying to catch up.

Lol I just went to Glen Helen yesterday to watch rally x. The jewbaru community is FULL of bros; too many bros for me in fact. I also had an evo guy almost follow me to my house to tell me how much he loved my car one time. He also stated for some random reason that he always launches his car at 7k rpm...cool story.

You know i would agree to a certain extent....yes mazda motors blow also. But that doesnt change the fact that Subaru ej25 motors are weak and blow easy.

There are many more STis and WRXs than MS3s. Of course you'll see more examples of them blowing than ours. It's a simple game of statistics. Successes over possible outcomes, no?

True subarus out numbers the ms3/ms6s. But lets compare Evos to Wrx/Sti...you probably have 15+ subarus blowing stock motors compared to 1 evo. Ive never personally know anyone who has blown a stock 4g63 (not that its never happened) but my only 3 wrx/sti friends have all blown motors....there is a trend with subaru that many have come to expect.....rebuild if you want to make power because stock motor sucks balls.

Im not bashing on MS btw. Im taking up for it cause no matter how many ZZB happen I will always take a MS over a subaru any day of the week

Again, STi compared to Evo is also the same (although the numbers are slightly different). many more WRX and STis on the road than Evolutions (And Ralliarts if you want to count them).

I'll agree, the new GEMA world engine is a tank. I had it in my CSRT and I give many thanks to Mitsubishi for developing that block. It's amazing. I've been waiting for an evolution sport back actually, since the main thing that deterred me (other than my local Mitsu dealer's complete lack of customer service) was the trunk space).

The EJ25X has been around for way too long in my opinion. Luckily with this new gen they're going back to a 2L. Hopefully they can fix most of their issues.

I went to go check out the evo x last year and I almost burst into tears when I saw the trunk. I realize that you buy a car like this with the intention of it being pure performance but not being able to put a case of waters in that thing is pretty laughable.

LOL

I had a stroller in the WRX hatchback I was trading in, just so I could make sure it fit in the EVO.
I didn't even give it a shot, and just went straight for the STi.

An EVO sport back would have me there ASAP, though.

Yeah I've heard from a lot of people that they would like to see an evo sport back. Would be interesting to see if one may come out with the Eco evo or whatever Mitsubishi has planned.

Evo 8/9 has a big trunk. I was sad about the X trunk but you cant beat the evo performance in a subaru. Im not a big suby fan because of all the people ive know (friends and ehh friends) that have had issues with them. When I count the Evo I take into effect...Evo plus all of the 4g63 dsms so it really brings it alot closer to the number of Wrx/Stis.

Motor vs motor though....only an illogical person would say the ej25 is as reliable as a 4g63
