Windsheild Wipers what do you use? Just picked up a set of Rainx wipers not bad, see if they last more than 6 months. What do you use and witch ones are fails? |
I'm keeping my stock ones until they go bad and then I'll be picking up the Rainx ones. They performed pretty well for (over 2 years) Florida weather in my previous car. I do turn off my wipers when I sit at red lights though, saves them up a bit. |
i've tried both the rainx and bosch icons. both seemed to clean roughly as well in the beginning, but the rainx lasted WAY longer than the bosch icons. my current set has been through 2 winters (about 1.5 yrs total), and they're just about as worn out as my bosch were after like 6 months (max). |
i get about 1-1.5 years on my rainx ones. paired with the orange rainx wiper fluid they are killer. |
Funny, I tried RainX wipers a year or so ago and they only lasted me 6 months until the blade started peeling. I vowed never to use them again considering their high price tag, so I just use the cheap AutoZone brand and replace them every year. |

But I also live in an extreme climate area - we get heavy snow, heavy rain and heavy sun in each season, so that might have something to do with it too. |
ya, i got a somewhat reasonable price on them too...i think it was like $5 off or something... |
I like the icons better than the rainx ones |

I get about a year with the neo forms. But then again I have to deal with snow and ice so sometimes less |
I've had the rainx ones on for about since winter. I switched to them because ice was getting built up in the stockers. But I'm with them so far. |
Rain-X and the orange fluid ! |
Rainx weatherbeaters fucking suck they scratched my windshield. Lattitudes are working pretty nice. Sealing the windshield helps the most. And their green bug juice washer fluid works good but is real soapy. |
The ubiquitous... ...Bosch Icon... They are outstanding. For MS3: Data/Pics: ICON Wiper Blades Icon list: Vehicle Part Finder Results |
i just changed my OEMs for the first time in 3 years last week... they were so fucked i could literally see nothing if it rained.... I replaced them with OEMs because i happened to be at mazda parts desk and i must say that the new one are amazing lol... i can actually see again when it rains |
oh whoops...i should have mentioned that i use the rainx latitudes. the weather beaters are the cheap version! |
Rubber is rubber.... keep your windshield clean with rain x and it doesn't matter. I replace every 6 months because the winter destroys all rubber. |
I'm still running the stock ones for now. I don't drive my car in the snow. I have never had the rain x wipes and I have had the Bosch icons. I liked the Icons a lot on my last car. Maybe when I need some I will try the Rain X to see the diff. |
What did you guys do for the rear wiper? Dealership? I haven't even looked into it but need one now. |
Have not changed it yet, probably go with R-X. |

thank you so much for this thread op |

the rear blade is a specific plastic one, you can probably get something else to fit but it won't look like the OEM one. Chances are you can get wiper inserts from your dealership for a pretty cheap price. |
my stock ones on the passenger side ripped already at like 2000 mi, fucking fail. I'm gonna get the expensive rain-x ones. I had bosch on my RSX for 2 years and they were garbage after 6 months. I stopped driving the car frequently so I couldn't be bothered to replace them. Need to rain-x the windshield before I go on vacation! |
a properly-fitting rear wiper can be had from trico...i just went to my local advanceautoparts and had them order it for me. it's been quite good, so i have no complaints. |
good to know, thanks! |
FYI, rain-x destroys wipers. Never use rain-x on windSHIELDS. |
I use goodyear ones from costco, $7 a blade and they work great. I also use rainx washer fluid which works so good I usually don't need my wipers. http://www.goodyearwiperblade.com/?mid=main |

I use it...every time it rains the rear windows seem to pick up a lot of mist. I think it's just how air flows through the rear of a hatchback car. That mist dries up after hot showers, which are very common where I live. |

Valeo 600 series for me. Had PIAA silicone blades on my old car and they were good but cost a shit ton. Bought PIAA graphite blades for my mom, they were expensive and sucked. |
On a serious note, I'm running Bosch something or other on my car and my wife's, both seem to be doing very well. |
Piaa...I had a set on my truck that lasted 7 years, no joke. They were better after 7 years than my RainX wipers I put on my TSX in 2 weeks. I got rid of the truck and picked up the cx7 last march. Just now put Piaa wipers on it. I do not put a lot of miles on my vehicles, bought my truck new in 2000 and traded it in March of this year with only 37500 miles on it. The TSX was bought new and now has 21000 miles on it (I LOVE that car). Ditched the RainX wipers on it last summer, and still perform like new now.Neither are garage kept, so they bake in the sun in the summer and freeze in the winter...and the piaa's still perform like new. |
the stock ones. used them for the first time this morning since September 11' |
