would it take alot to get a 13 MS3 into the high 12's?

Just curious what kind of Mod's would it take to get the new MS3's into the 12's? How much would it all cost and how reliable would the car be after it all? This car is in what the Mid 13's stock or not? I see guys on the WRX forum say it doesn't take much to get there cars there and im guessing its because of there AWD? Just wondering if its that easy for the MS3 to get there as well?

That doesn't seem like a whole lot of MOD's! That is very impressive if thats the case! Im not going to lie im stock on what car to get the WRX or the MS3? Only reason why i like the WRX a little better is because of the AWD!! But the price of them at 26,500 for the base and used one are just as much if not more is really putting me off! I found a couple MS3's on sale for a couple k off and they are more in my price range but i just dont want to have buyer regret and want to make sure the car i get has good performance! So sorry for asking questions that have probably been asked before these sites are sometimes hard to find old post's if your new to Navigating them. Im just looking for honest opinions.

You're gonna have to remove your spare tire when you do this too.

oh, no they don't. Supposedly they're coming out with a new speed 6 in a couple weeks. It may be a twin turbo diesel but it has over 300lb/ft of torque... supposedly. but i was just suggesting. Didn't know you wanted a brand new car. my bad

I was trying to get him in this family but an evo does sound nice.... way more expensive than a wrx if he's looking at brand new ones though.

No one said internals? What is this forum coming to?

MSZ 01-03-2013 11:43 AM

Ya like i said i was just wondering how much it would take to make it that fast. From the sound of it Not much. I owned a Chrysler 300 srt8 that was rated at 0-60 4.6 and 12.9 in the 1/4 and i loved the performance on the road. I always loved the fact that it was a fast car that was respected. But it killed me at the gas pump.. Im really starting to get into these turbo cars cause it seems like they are better on gas and have good performance and practicality at the same time. I thought of buying a Mustang even but cars like that when you have kids are just not practical and not good when you live in the Mountains and get lots of snow and my driveway is snow covered pretty much till the spring so the RWD drive in a car like the Mustang wouldn't be good! WRX would be the most ideal with the AWD for my situation but like i said they seem so darn expensive for what they are! Im guessing the MS3 with a good set of snow tires would be good in the snow since it has Front wheel Drive..

You will not get good gas mileage if you are looking to get into 12s.

How bad would it be? If get just intake and a good tune sometimes that improves MPG? But im guessing its going to take alot more then that!

stevehuff 01-03-2013 11:57 AM

How old are you bud?

kritz 01-03-2013 12:00 PM

Not a ton, a good start would be good tires slicks or drag radials and the usual full bolting.

Wrong!!! 33 years old! you have to understand that ive had v8 Muscle cars all my life so intake and tune on those cars did not make for poor gas mileage! I admit i no nothing about turbo 4 engines and im asking cause im willing to learn! Never to old to learn!

I respect that being that I'm the one that's 18. haha but I concur with the previous posts, as long as you can drive, and are mildly to fully bolted and tuned.... I see 12's in your future.

Google my friend. And if you're really serious about learning, donate to this site and search. More then likely every question you have asked has been answered many times.

lol I'm always wrong haha! Test drive one before u consider buying an MS3. They are all arouns nice vehicles, even if u prefer to stay all stock.

When the time comes if u do in fact decided to buy one, get on here..., research, read, learn...and repeat process lol

You should be able to get an MS3 in the 12's.

BigjohnB20 01-03-2013 12:22 PM

I have to throw out that just because you add a few mods that will get you 12.9 doesn't mean you will be getting horrible gas mileage. Actually an intake and good tune would probably increase mileage as long as you aren't driving like you are on the strip all the time. Of course if you are going WOT everywhere the mods are gonna help you make more power, ie burn more gas.

Ya thats what ive always seen with my other cars was a 2 or so mpg gain. Unless you really get on the gas all the time then its worse!

don't wanna be that guy but.... don't forget ms6>ms3>wrx>whale poop>civics lol

boostdmazda3 01-03-2013 12:42 PM

pretty much ms6 and wrx is faster until the ms3 reaches 40mph....ms6 is the most classy choice out of of all of them.

3Gee Tee 01-03-2013 12:43 PM

If you're all about straight line drag racing then fail-wheel-drive is not for you.

I know...But RWD is just not pratical in the winter for me! I just wish i could find a Fast newer car with AWD in my price range! That being said ive seen some fast FWD cars racing so its not out of the question but i do know its not ideal...But if a MS3 can run 12's on the track its got feel pretty good on the street.. Im really not looking for a die hard drag racing car and might not ever really take it to the track. But i say high 12's because thats about what some of my other cars where rated at and i just loved there performance on the street.

uncorked11 01-03-2013 01:01 PM

With some decent parts and good traction 12's are a very real possibility. That being said it all lies in the tune.
