| Not Ranked : 0 score I was going to mention what Matt was saying about pulling the intake and cleaning the valves earlier, but I didn't think that anyone would want to go to the trouble. If you could do without your car for about a weekend every 30k miles, you could keep them pretty clean. Roll the car while in gear to make sure that the valves close, then pour a little sea foam, or whatever cleaner, in there and let it soak. Scrub it off with a toothbrush or long swabs after it's had a couple of hours to soak, then use a tube or narrow attachment on a shop vac to suck all that mess out of there. After that is done, roll the car until the next valves close, and repeat until all four sets of valves are done. Time consuming, but not terribly hard provided you can pull the IM.
