I still have the MS3 but I'm not sure if I'm gonna keep it. It's parked outside in the rain and I just feel bad for it. I'm sure I could find it a good home

cthomp 12-20-2013 05:44 AM

Very nice congratulations on the new ride.

anavrinIV 12-20-2013 06:25 AM

congrats on garnering every bit of jealousy this forum can possibly muster, it's well deserved. I can only dream of the day I'm able to even consider that caliber of car.

crankshaft 12-20-2013 06:26 AM

That's a slight upgrade.

Agent_Orange 12-20-2013 06:26 AM

So am I the only one that prefers the pu?

DoMiNic 12-20-2013 06:30 AM

WELL DONE SIR!

mtosofsky 12-20-2013 06:31 AM

The porsche is absolutely beautiful. Ever think of keeping the pu as a daily?

Raider 12-20-2013 06:35 AM

Be careful, that brand likes to drive into trees.

Porsches are drivers' cars. They may not be the fastest thing in a straight line, but they're an all around performance car.

802MS3 12-20-2013 06:53 AM

non turbo? :getout:

Yeah, because the same person who owns an MS3 can afford a 997. lol

I'm talking pure aesthetics. I know they don't compare performance wise. Never liked Porsche's styling, but I do respect them as machines.

Lets be honest, most people who get an MS3 can't afford half of what the OP just bought.

I'm not a fan of all of their cars, but I think they're decent looking. Simple and functional all the way around. Only cars I nut over are stupid clean/modded whale tail 911s, and modified 997s.

Like a sexy woman, they got mad curves and a fat ass. Love seeing their monster tires with their flared quarter panels.

I'm just hating. OP's 911 looks clean, I won't lie. I just see too many rich fucks who drive like pussies owning those cars. Now the dudes that buy a 911 Turbo...those bastards know what they are doing. You don't buy a 500hp car without the urge to drive it like you stole it.

But you never know who can afford what these days. Bitcoin is still hovering around $700/1BTC ;)

I use to work for porsche, and a lot of those guys who own them are indeed enthusiasts. There's no reason to buy their cars if you're not. Their interiors are bare-boned, they don't have a lot of bells and whistles or anything, and they're not comfortable cars. Granted, we did get the lawyers and doctors who want to make a "power" statement. But even some of them like to drive; they're just not into modding.

We had quite a few heavily modified porsches come into our place. One being a 800+ hp 997 and everyone drooled over. When he came in, everyone stopped working and walked out to see it.

+1^^

To me, the 911 Turbos are about the sexiest cars on the roads. Perfect combination of curves, lines, stance, and a little naughty where you need it.

OP, congrats. I dream of the day I'll have a 911 to call my own.
Now keep the MS3 and turn it into your track car to beat the hell out of on the weekends.

You were good until this. You got that part backwards. lol Why drive the car with less potential at the track? Keep the MS3 as a daily, and make the 911 a fucking race car.

ABolewski 12-20-2013 09:34 AM

Actually I think Bitcoin is on the edge of $900 now? I'm not 100% sure but that's what I last read only a week or two ago. Crazy shit. If only I knew back in 2008 haha.

And for the decision to make which one a race car, well that's up to the individual. I mean, you could learn a lot and become a better driver with the 3 on the track than the Porsche. (from what I've read. I've never been on a track yet ) And it'd be cheaper to go "full race car" with the MS3 I'd imagine.

And if I had to choose between the Porsche and the MS3 for a commuter, obviously the Porsche is going to be way more comfortable and refined. The 3 already beats up the driver in stock form.

Just my two cents.

Congrats OP, I always loved Porches, for the same reason already stated: Total drivers car.

Why the fuck would you even buy a PU to begin with if you can afford, and like, a 911 anyway?
Unless you just won the lottery.
Or inheritance.
Or gave out a lot of BJs
Or all of the above.

manila 12-20-2013 10:08 AM

@Buddhamonk; Awesome car!
Plan on selling the wheels?
Do you have the specs of them BTW?

TiGraySpeed6 12-20-2013 11:17 AM

Enjoy the hell out of it!
May she treat ya well & keep ya safe!

captain slow 12-20-2013 11:27 AM

those wheels are tits

jseams 12-20-2013 11:32 AM

Good lord... I'm already paranoid enough with my MS3 about getting dinged or scratched. I think I'd go insane with a car like that. lol

Beautiful car. Congratulations!

jk_ms3 12-20-2013 11:41 AM

I have 2 dream cars. One is my ms3. I've wanted that since I knew they existed, and now I have it.

The other is a 911. I've wanted that since I was a kid. So you, sir, have my envy today.

swsmailman 12-20-2013 11:44 AM

Drool.

I have always wanted a Turbo 911, some day, some day... For some reason I love the looks of the Rauh Welt Porches, especially Hooters. Ha.

Exactly - even the most watered down 911's are drivers cars. I've driven a few 911's over the years and even a housewifey beaten-on tiptronic Carrera 4 Cabrio was VERY impressive drivers car with super responsive steering and perfect brake feel.

Buddhamonk 12-20-2013 01:03 PM

I've always wanted a 911 but just couldn't afford it until now. I don't come from money. Paid my way through college cleaning toilets and disposing of trash in a busy amusement park. Anyway, went through medical school and eventually finished training (took 14 years total) so now I get to buy myself a nice toy.

The thing about 911 is that most people can't tell the difference between a 50K 911 and a 150K 911. My goal initially was to buy a 997 GT3 (that's a real driver's car, not like the cushy 997 turbo) but both were outside my budget. I bought the cleanest 997.1 C2S I could find and didn't have to pay a whole lot for it so I am happy.

If I had to chose a car to use on the track, it would be the 911. It's really hard to describe how good the driving experience is. I use it as a DD for now but it's not the most comfortable ride. Clutch pedal is super heavy, stick is notchy, chassis is very stiff.

Now if someday I get tired of my dedicated track toy (see picture) then I would probably track the 911.

I was a mess the first week. couldn't even go to the gym but now I'm doing better. I just park really really really far from everyone.

I didn't win the lottery but I do receive a lot of BJ's...

802MS3 12-20-2013 02:38 PM

no...the 997 GT2 is THE real drivers car ;)

Frenchy11 12-20-2013 05:43 PM

Fantastic car. And good that you got it through hard work. Congrats OP. Hope we get some good pictures of it side by side with the MS3 if you still have it.
