Was just doing my routine check on my car to make sure I have no leaks and what not and ran across this. How the fuck, I'm only assuming its because of movement. Guess I gotta replace that now, fuck!

I'm not sure either wtf you are referring too. I'm guessing the hose against belt like stated above? Idk

Looks as though it has worn down to the reinforcement in the hose. Should be replaced and then zip tied like you said.

2011speed 12-09-2011 04:44 PM

you wouldn't have that problem if you bought the velocity red:-p

My exact thoughts actually, I'm just curious how this happened? I figured with at least the RMM I'd be stopping that kind movement.

The RMM should have. Just replace the hose and tie it back with zip tie. About the best you can do for now.

yes but at least my hose gets touched :neener:

cesaros 12-09-2011 04:58 PM

the hose is pretty close to the belt anyway...a RMM wont stop the engine from moving completely. Your radiator hose was probably worn down before you put in a new RMM.

even with a new RMM, your engine can still move alot...especially since a RMM doesn't stop side to side play.

cliff note: zip tie, and RMM isn't a cure all for engine movement.

Yea, that is true. Just gives me one more point to bring to my wife of why I should let Jamie side mount me.

Point 1: Rubs my hose.
Point 2: Because Racecar!

Recently had the coolant return line come loose and get chewed up by the radiator fan... leaked fluid all over the damn place. Cut up the sliced part and reconnected the hose with a tranny line connector. Zipped tied it to where it belongs... problem fixed. Yea engine movement is insane in this car, waiting for tranny mount to get here.

+1

Well replaced the hose today, honestly I forgot about it until I smelled antifreeze this morning after driving. The issue isn't actually with motor movement, it is the radiator it's self moving around. The bottom mount is broken on my car. So now to locate that piece. Fml.

Well see, I hit a raccoon and I'm 99% sure that what broke it. I can put in a claim but would rather just fix it out of pocket and save in the long run.
