Looks pretty good to me.

SofaKingAwesome 05-15-2012 01:54 PM

yay on wheels, nah on lugs

rfinkle2 05-15-2012 01:56 PM

I think the wheels look great, but the lugs are a little distracting.

Is that the new gold over coat that they are selling?

Did you see people plasti-dipping their entire car now?

spiffy9999 05-15-2012 04:57 PM

i'm not a fan of the gold tone myself...but that's my personal taste...it looks well done so if you like the color go for it...i want mine flat black...and i like the lugs...haha, but my color scheme when i'm done is going to be blue/black...so for the wheels i want them mostly black with a splash of blue....i know i'm gonna get flamed for rice...but i like...and i'm rambling....tl/dr : well done, not my taste but looks good anyway

Dumyz 05-15-2012 06:17 PM

I think some black lugs would finish it off. Blue doesn't really fit in my opinion. Other than that, looks pretty damn good.

Post a link to the exact product and color you used, NOW. I WANTS!

D08SPEED3 05-15-2012 08:53 PM

Did you spray with plasti dip then sprayed with preferred color paint?

Stingray69 05-15-2012 09:17 PM

Keep the wheels sell the lugs to Honda owner.

adrager622 05-15-2012 09:39 PM

Looks really good. Interesting color for the white. And yes, link for the exact color used.

VertigoM 05-15-2012 09:44 PM

I was JUST on that website the other day! DYC Home - Plasti Dip For Your Car - Resources & More at DipYourCar.com NEW Glossifier

duappleganger 05-15-2012 11:18 PM

I'll say you've done the best you can possibly do with the stock rims

ruthless013 05-16-2012 08:46 AM

thats pretty sweet for plastidip. dont know if my powdercoat job was worth it now.

CWP_MS3 05-16-2012 09:18 AM

I typically think of a lighter shade of gold working with white cars, but that looks pretty good.

I agree. I wonder what their gunmetal color would look like? I am intrigued by the plastidip concept, because it can be removed easily. I loved the dark wheels on white one from the SEMA show awhile back.

CWP_MS3 05-16-2012 12:33 PM

Are they kosher to wash regularly, or do you have to be super careful? I typically use an acid like most detail shops would. That might fuck that shit up.

plain soap and water with a soft cloth to wash plasti dip....as often as you'd like...

Dark_Signal 05-16-2012 02:00 PM

Looks great! Not into the lugs though. Otherwise, PlastiDip FTW!!!!!!!!

Yeah I bought their wheel package but ending up only using 1 can of gold since I only did like 1 1/2 coats
But I did use 4 cans of black

LOVE plasti-dip! I think the setup that you painted looks really good

Dubcnea 05-22-2012 09:54 PM

i dig the scheme. the blue looks fine. doesn't matter anyways as long as you're happy with the way they look. :) :fuckyou: the haters

CWP_MS3 05-23-2012 09:09 AM

@Noodlesincup

I noticed there were multiple kinds of plastidip; one said rubber coating the other said vinyl or someshit like that. I'm guessing that I want to buy the rubber coating cans? Also, did you do anything in particular to keep it from going inside the wheel itself, or did you just spray in there too?

I'm considering trying plastidip this weekend. How many coats did you do?

Dubcnea 05-29-2012 04:23 PM

doesn't that make the wheels hard as hell to clean? i can't imagine trying to wipe of a rubbery finish and have it be clean. also it could tear, then you're fucked. no?

bertrand_CX_7 05-29-2012 10:18 PM

looks good.mthis is the color I've been dreaming about.

get ride of the lug nutes
