Yes...and

The other day I took my car in for an alignment. My tires were getting eaten on the inner side, not cool. :damnit1:

When I picked her up the tech said they took her for a test drive post alignment and noted marked torque steer.

NO SHIT! Damn that is new to me.

Cheers,

G

<cool story bro picture>

ASHMS3 09-18-2012 02:23 PM

I would be wondering why they got on my car hard enough to induce torque steer.

Chimmike 09-18-2012 02:24 PM

@Jonny Quest :fing26:

silentwolf8 09-18-2012 02:24 PM

Or let alone driving your car period for alignment.. i got mine done and they did not test drive anything.

:eek2:

Should of hid a goPro inside the cabin. Might have been some interesting footage.

WTF are they doing driving your car like that? I'd be pissed!

BTW, I learned again last week to never let my car leave my sight when it's being serviced. The tire monkeys fucked up my wife's wheels and now it's a damn fight to get them fixed.

Keko 09-18-2012 03:02 PM

Yeah I'd be pissed if they drove my car like that. Go Pro idea is awesome... now I want one:violin:

fortressofcomfort 09-18-2012 03:09 PM

-1 for subject line btw :soapbox:

Stingray69 09-18-2012 03:16 PM

I am sure they evened out the tire wear by spinning the shit out of them.

MazdaBoy2.3 09-18-2012 03:24 PM

This is why my car is not left anywhere without my eyes on it.

fortressofcomfort 09-18-2012 04:12 PM

I don't take my car into the dealer anymore either.

Last time I was in there I got an oil change. They filled 'er up with 6 qts of 5w20 conventional. FUCK THAT. The manager was like "well if you change your own oil and get receipts, how do I know THAT oil on the receipt ended up in THAT car?"

So now I do my own work which hasn't amounted to much other than oil changes and tire rotations. Changing oil on this car is so easy. I can do it in like 15 minutes now, without Exxon Valdez all over the driveway.

I have always changed my own oil even though I could easily afford to have it done. It takes me back to my humble roots and affords me an excuse to spend time in the garage with a drink. No matter where you go the least experienced guy is the oil change guy. Leaving a car with speed in the name to a mechanic is like leaving an AA member with a bottle of booze.

motherfnmonsta 09-18-2012 06:34 PM

I honestly always do a test drive after doing a alignment. But that is only for a mile I can determine with in one mile if the car is true or not. And if they have ever drove a speed they will know it has torque steer I found that out the first time I did a PDI on a genpu

And for @Raider
