(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score I am not sure, give it a shot. If you want to experiment with different cleaners make sure you Check the data sheets. Look for items with high concentrations of PolyEther Amine and Aliphatic Naphtha. These are the agents that will help keep the death at bay. And keep your SV from getting sticky. (Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Here is a Data Log Freeway 60-100.csv to expose how well the pump is working. It sure does not have trouble pumping E fuel or maintaining pressure; Even after 5,000 + miles of straight E85 without any additive treatment in the fuel. I am going to try to change my oil tomorrow. Lets all hope I find the time to do so and to post up some info for you. |

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Got the pump out yesterday. Here is what the internals and pump looked like. The bore was not seized on the piston, it came apart with ease. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The crap on the piston was not sticky, it was like chalk or a powder and wiped away with ease. So this new method should help keep costs down for people who want to run E all the time like I do, since it only uses a few MLs per pump rebuild. |

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Oh no, I ditched that method a long time ago. I would only resort to that if my pump/spill valve died on me while driving. What I am doing is maintenance free. Rebuild pump, and go. |

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score It is quite simple really. The idea is using this additive as a barrier between the fuel and the oil. @Enki; has shown us the reaction of oil and boiling hot E85 (black death). By adding Si-1 to the pump itself where the reaction is happening, theoretically will change the properties of resulting sticky goo we know as death. Since adding Si-1 to the pump, I have been able to drive an incredibly long amount of time without experiencing any kind of fuel pump failure. Even my spill valve does not develop sticky death failure. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score My take after that post would be he rebuilt the pump while putting the additive inside the pump and has since had issues. So basically what he initially did but only once with with either the same amount or a larger amount.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Yes. Here is what I did yesterday while changing my oil. Put some si-1 in a shot glass. ![]() Make sure to clean the bore contact points on the pump and fastener. I used Si-1. ![]() Use Si-1 as your lube for the piston. ![]() Slide the piston into the fastener install spring and then add a ML of si-1 inside the cup. Install the bore. A bit of additive may escape, that's OK wipe it away. Keep the internals vertical and turn the pump upside down. Bring the pump to the internals. Install and torque normally. The first test was a few hundred miles just to note the difference. The second time was thousands of miles. I only rebuilt the pump to show everyone, not because it needed it. You can reference my log as to how well the pump was working a few days ago. Last edited by littleloogy; 08-13-2014 at 11:58 AM. Reason: MSF Database - Automerged Doublepost |

| Not Ranked : 0 score It might though. A dexos oil is going to be more resistant to fuel than, say, T6. When my first UOA came back on the RP, it had 0% fuel dilution.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Pretty much @mazdafreak; just Lube the piston and fill the faster with additive after the piston has been inserted. Then insert the bore into the fastener and then assemble pump. Sent From a Galaxy, Far Far Away... |

| Not Ranked : 0 score Well fuck me. That's awesome..... I have a bottle of the additive in my garage. Guess I'll take pump apart tomorrow! Guess it makes perfect sense since that's where it all happens...... But you would think the additive would just wash away in the pump after a lil while after.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Where the additive is going should be sealed off. The pump is designed to keep fuel out of the oil and oil out of the fuel. We are in a sense putting the additive in the reaction area. Sent From a Galaxy, Far Far Away... |
