Awesome! And no problems with the air straightener? I thought I heard about some hiccups?

If not I can order today!

MAF Cal.'s have proven to take a little bit more work with the HTP intake and I believe @Lex; related it to the honeycomb air straightener. Basically the MAF Curve isn't perfectly linear with the HTP, but as long as you know to expect that, it doesn't cause any issues. I chased my tail for quite a while trying to figure out why my MAF curve wasn't nice and linear anymore. Take a look at Lex's HTP MAF Cal. in his big intake MAF Cal. thread and you can see what I'm talking about.

Had a MS6 in today for fitting and our 3.5" and 4" intakes fit with our 51R battery tray & our Small battery tray as long as the turbo is in the stock(ish) position. Hope this clears that up on these intakes. We did discover an issue with our full 3" intake with the stock battery and will be posting up our findings and fix in our other thread.

I didn't know that there were some fitment issues with 3" full intake and stock battery.
I have BNR S3 which sits about 1" closer to the battery, and only thing I needed to do is to trim a little bit of battery tray, and then it fits really great
So, there shouldn't be any issues with stock turbo, or you are talking about something else?

My car had a fitment issue with the stock K04, I had to trim the battery tray to get it to fit correctly. I'm wondering when I upgrade to an S3 if I'll have to do much else, I posted a pic in the intake thread showing the lack of clearance.

Edit: Still like my intake though, even if i had to modify tray, lol.

Can you take a picture of the modification of the tray. We have made a bracket that moves the battery over and back so that no trimming will be necessary.

Thanks

The 3" intake is deff just an issue with the stock MS6 battery.

@amggilly305; has the HTP 3" but with an optima battery and it has plenty of clearance from the battery. Fitment is golden.

gilly can you post a pic ?

Engine bay is in the mess, so you can't see it clearly, but there is about 1/2" space left between battery tray bracket and intake.
Battery tray is trimmed ~1" on the right side, and battery itself is also placed as much as it was possible to the right side.

Thanks HTP for the 4" intake.
Got it fitted onto my MS6, little extra work to get it in!
Great product, now to get my MAF dialed in.

Default Hi tuned performance intake issue

Yesterday I installed this beautiful intake to replace my previous corksport intake that had a massive leak and I surprisingly fit it all nice and perfect in my engine bay and had no issues with the battery whatsoever... until I tried to start the car and it won’t even turn on. I put in a order earlier this week to Freektune to adjust my current tune for the intake but I didn’t think I would run into any problems starting the car I thought it would still be able to at least start. Before anyone starts hosing me “ DiD yOu iNstAlL iT rIghT” I’ve checked everything and cannot see what could be causing this issue

Of course it won't run. The car has no fucking clue how much air is being drawn past the MAF sensor. If you'd done a little more leg-work, you would know this already.

The stock intake is 2.65" in diameter at the MAF housing.

The CS intake is one of three sizes, if memory serves: 2.65", 3", or 3.5". That is, the MAF housing on the CS intake is either the same as stock, or has a cross-sectional area that is 128% of stock size (3"), or 174% of stock size (3.5").

The 4" HTP intake is 228% of stock size. The ECU can adjust up to about 16% above or below stock size just fine. Beyond 20%, it really struggles.

with a 4inch intake tuned for 2.65'', the car should crank and be able to start but i won't be surprise if it cannot hold the idle or run more than few seconds. It may start better without the maf being connected.

4inch id VS 2.65'' id is a -229% difference, the ecu cannot compensate for it...

If it isn't cranking or trying to fire up, you miss a ground (the injectors ground if often forgotten on the plate above the coolant elbow) or a connector in your install process....

@Vansquish oups you were faster than me

Yes I made sure everything was connected on the install and everything is grounded I am stumped because I have now uninstalled the new air intake and put back the old one I had on which is broken but the car still ran before the install perfectly fine without any of these codes but now I have every code under the sun P0118
P0113
P0328
P0123
P0222
P2088
P2119
P0089
P0091
P0193
P0098
I’m hoping that This issue will be resolved with a new tune and the 4” intake but is there something else that I could’ve fucked up or looked over?

Did you disconnect the throttle body to install your intake? Do you have an OEM MAF sensor?

Most of those codes have to do with the MAF sensor (which is also the intake air temperature sensor), and the throttle position sensor (throttle body).

You might want to just re-flash whatever map was on the car before you fucked with the intake and see if the codes re-appear.
