Ill be the first one to buy one of these used when someone decides they dont want.

I want something like this with the fill neck, no paint, and only 2 fittings 1/2 NPT one top one bottom so I can use it as a air to water intercooler tank. I just want plain aluminum.
@HTP; do you have any beta units or incomplete or failures or something that can be made like this cheap ? I dont want all the finishes.

For use of an expansion tank? Should be no problem. Our CTSV expansion tank is the same as the Speed but with different mounting brackets and a Jabsco pump flange.

Link? I have a bosch cobra water pump so I am not sure about what mounting solution to use.

how affordable can you make it without any finish or anything, my water core has no coating on it either nor the radiator so I see no need to coat the tank. I know its nice, but I need to save cost.

I was going to have one fabbed locally, but if you got something we can work out thats close to the cost then I wont take my car to the shop.

Depending on the capacity of the expansion tank I was even going to go for a second tank on opposite side, but one should be enough. I also though about putting an ice box in the passenger floor board but I already claimed the entire trunk for meth, audio, and battery.

My system barely seems to hold a gallon and I think it heat soaks fast. I would like to add like 3 gal to it, but of course fitment is always a bitch on this car. I have a good spal fan on the heat exchange and the bosch pump with this kit:

Water to Air Intercooler

So im only using the core and heat exchange and hoses everything else i upgraded.

So if you can lead some advice on this, then also i have 2.5" IC pipe feeding the 3" core inlet with 3" out going to stock TB which is smaller than the outlet. Should I reduce the outlet with some sort of weld on aluminum to restrict flow and slow it down? I get boost creep with the new air to water as it steadily climbs from 25 to 26.3+ boost till redline and never stops. I did not have this issue with my CPE Fmic, but now i got like 14 inches of intercooler piping opposed to several feet so I assume I lost pressure drop.

JSmith 07-16-2016 01:19 PM

If the log jam is the anodizing shop...then this shouldnt slow delivery down too much.

"I'll quote you on a custom tank in 2 weeks when I get back from vacation" is what I said. I didn't discuss anything else with you.

The last of the Gen 2 tanks came back from anodizing late on Friday, and Katie (Tank Girl) shipped them out Monday. The delivery driver told me they were racking up the Gen 1 tanks before he left with that delivery.

We are plenty stocked, so I'm not sure why our website would say we aren't shipping. Email me a link where it says that please.

Nitr0EngiE 07-20-2016 08:29 AM

If I am wrong than its irrelevant, sorry for confusion, but i swear I saw on the site where it said closed until 8/1, I guess its possible I had you confused with another site (did not think so but possible). Either way it does not effect me so ill back out of here.

Have a good day all!

EDIT: @Matt@HTP; I apologize, I found what I was talking about and it was JMF, not HTP. so ignore me !

What does racking up mean? Or did you mean wrapping up?

They use steel racks to dip the parts in and out of the chemical tanks when they anodize or plate metal. So they were most likely referring to the fact that they were putting the Gen1 tanks on the racks to go through the anodizing process next.

Mine might be for sale here soon. The tank is beautiful, but I might be going a different direction with my setup.

Matt@HTP 08-03-2017 04:41 PM

Another batch is in the works! As of right now they will be exactly the same as the previous batch. Anyone have feedback that got in on the last run???

JSmith 08-03-2017 07:11 PM

That fill port you made worked out well...with a little help from a bracket. Dunno if anyone else would be interested in something similar but I can share if you would like.

Maybe add a 5th support for the pump? Think tab front and back to zip tie through in the event the 4 bolts back out.

neganox 08-04-2017 05:47 AM

More cat stickers.

MS3Shadow 08-04-2017 05:53 AM

+1 on cat stickers

And I didn't have any problem with fill port.

Did you have problems with the pump studs backing out? We'll include loctite on this batch.

JSmith had a custom fill neck since he had a something in the way. He was the only one with this option.

Well let's not lump concept time into that. lol We've had almost no feedback on these which was very discouraging. We already started the next batch and so far the only change i'm implementing is a slight change to the low level indication.

You guys heard the man. Give some feed back if you have one installed. My only concern is the kozmic vented occ I have may be in the way. Anyone have some good pics of this tank installed?

neganox 08-04-2017 04:22 PM

My address has changed. I'll PM you.

As far as the tank goes, everything fit like a glove on mine and it sure as shit isn't moving anywhere with its like.. what.. 6 mounting points to the frame?

Mass produce meth tanks and underroute piping to go with the DM manifold kit and you'll have yourself a nice market chunk.

Hopefully you see my subtle suggestion.

MS3Shadow 08-04-2017 05:28 PM

I couldn't use the other mounting location on the frame, since i couldn't get to them.

And i had to remove some cables to make it flush to the back side of the brace.
It think it's because of my tech package that i had additional wires there.

JSmith 08-04-2017 06:24 PM

No problems with the studs backing out, but I haven't checked them in the ~6 months installed.

Did you happen to take pictures of the interference? The tanks were mocked up on cars that had Tech Packages.

Thanks!

MD1032 08-07-2017 02:26 PM

Interesting that loctite on the pump studs was mentioned...I took one look at the tank as-received and immediately loctited my studs to the tank...had zero issues with anything backing off as a result.

Mine fit perfectly and I never had any issues with it. That is why you didn't hear from me. In my opinion nothing about the design needs to be changed. I was able to resell the tank for more than I bought it for originally.
