Default Direct Injection Piston: Introductory Price

Our direct injection pistons are manufactured by Wiseco, made of 2618 alloy, have Wiseco's ArmorGlide coating material for reduced friction and noise, come with steel nitride/napier xx rings, and are the first piston available for the Mazdaspeed 3 and Mazdaspeed 6 platforms at higher compression ratios.

Some of you have already seen from other threads that we have been working on a new piston design. Well, the first 2 sets, we are happy to say, were sent out last week. With that we are offering an introductory offer of $599.00 a set through the 5th of November. Our standard pricing after that will be $655.00 a set. You can currently order from our website, no code needed for pricing, or if you prefer you can contact myself or Clint@posifab.com to place your order.

For anyone in the US or APO addresses, the above price includes shipping. For anyone not in the US, you will need to contact us for shipping price and to place your order.

Because we are offering high compression options, these pistons are made on a case by case basis. If you are ordering a compression ratio/bore combination that has already been ordered, it is an approximate 3-4 week turn around. If it is the first time that compression ratio bore combination has been ordered it is approximate 5-6week turn around. The reason for the difference is every time there is a new combination, it is considered a completely new piston, and the engineers have to sign off on it.

I have already talked to Haltech, and he has approved us accepting payment with these turn arounds, because at this point they are still considered custom orders. As time goes on and see which combinations are popular and how fast they move, we will start to keep shelf stock and the other combinations will remain available under a custom status.

Combination that have currently been approved and are an approximate 3-4 week turn around are:

9.5:1cr, 87.5mm (standard bore) -@Digi Faggot
10:1cr, 88mm - LittleredMPS
10.5:1cr, 87.5mm - silvapain
10.5:1cr, 88mm - btstarcher
11:1cr, 88mm (.020" overbore) - GLORIFIEDBOZO
12:1cr, 87.5 - phate

There may be some changes in deck clearance depending on what compression ratio they are, but it will not go below .030". I was also reminded that the OTS Wiseco pistons required that oil squirters be bent for fitment, we will know in the next week or so if that is the case with these, and if it is I will talk to Wiseco about fixing it.

Unfortunately there has not. We currently do not have the resources to do anything extensive, but the design itself is based off research into direct injection and has reviewed by the engineers at Wiseco. The first set just went out last week to silvapain. I am hoping he will be up and running in the next couple of weeks, and we will be able to get him on a dyno soon.

So far they have only been made with a 22.5mm, stock size wrist pin. If someone wants a set with 22mm wrist pins it shouldn't be an issue.

So after talking to Wiseco there isn't really anything that can be done about the oil squirters without compromising the integrity of the piston, however after talking to silvapain some more about it, it may just be a matter of loosening the oil squirters and adjusting them a little bit. There should be another set going into a build very soon, and hopefully we will get more info on this. When I asked Wiseco to make these originally, I asked them for a piston that would support 1k hp for an extended period of time, and would rather not doing anything to reduce that.
silvapain likes this.

Since silvapain is up and running and will be heading to the dyno on the 27th of October, we have decided to extend our introductory price of $599.00 through the 5th of November to give guys a chance to see the results.

I'm running K1 rods and my pistons are stock bore because my block is brand new.

I see no problem going with 20 over pistons and machining your current block.

What compression ratio are you looking at going? As silvapain said there isn't anything wrong with going with an overbore, and unless you just really really want to or you punch a rod out the side like Dan did, I wouldn't buy a new block.

We have the ability to get K1's, however they are currently out of stock until I beleive December. We are hoping to be able to offer another rod option here soon though.

Well from your list, it looks like the 11:1 is the only one I can go with if I bore the block, right??

I plan to run a pte 6262 .83 with a mix of 85 in the tank too....Idk too much about all the ratio etc and best setup......Since pistons are a good price, I'm gonna pick them up. I don't plan to have the car apart till late winter anyways, so I'm in no rush on rods or anything like that yet.

They can get any CR in either stock or 20 over.

Ahh, thats good....But like I said, I rly don't know all about the compression ratio or anything like that, plus idk what would be the best ratio for my setup.

That's why I'm asking the masters lol.

Compression ratio is hugely dependent on what fuel you'll be using and how much power you want to be putting out. If straight E85 with that 6262 (assuming aux fueling), you may be able to get away with 12+ CR, we really don't know yet. The first 12:1 engine should be up and running in the next 4-6 weeks, if all goes well.

But, there is a balancing act if you intend to run 93 part of the time. If you will never run 93, the above 12+ probably holds true. If you want to make decent power on 93, you may want to consider keeping it below 10.5-11:1.

Yeah I don't think ill be going 100% E on the 6262, just cause I don't want to spend how ever much for aux fueling ((depending on the price tho)) but just w.e the highest mixture I can get with 93/85... And I'm looking at putting 450+ whp or how ever much the 6262 will allow me.

So what ratio you think is better?? Idk the difference between 10:5 or 11:1

So what ratio you think is better?? Idk the difference between 10:5 or 11:1
.5

Think of it like this, Higher CR, greater opportunity for power and higher chance of detonation. Lower CR, less opportunity for power and less chance for detonation.

Well looks like 11:1 it is then! Maybe ill look into aux fueling tho...Would be sweet to run 100% E on a 6262.

If u want to get the most out of that turbo I believe u will have to have aux fueling if some kind. We can max out stocking fueling with a k04

I would recommend 10.5:1 for you or even 10:1, only cause I know you like to switch to 93 and still want to be able to get on it.

Well I max my k04 turbo out and max my timing out on 100% E85 fully bolted, and I have no fueling problems.... Besides pegging the fuel sensor with the upgraded hprv.

Talk to DJ or NJSPEED3 about it. I honestly know nothing about the system, just that most of the big hp guys are running it and I will be looking into it shortly.

Jesus, $600 for a set of pistons and $400 for a set of rods.

DO WANT. 12:1 CR pistons with a gtx3071 and ghes (and e85 of course) would be goddamn incredible.

OK so it looks like I'll be ordering these next week, but I have a question. I'll be .020 overbored, with 10.5:1 CR. I plan on running with e85 (not sure if just 3 gallons/tank or a 50/50 mix) but would it be possible to tune for 93 octane as well with that compression?

EDIT: I would LIKE to run 10.5:1 CR if this is possible...haven't made a decision yet.
