I'm very curious as to the theory behind this design. Can you please explain why you chose this and the purpose each dish serves? Are there raised portions as well to increase compression and therefore the needed valve depressions?

The design is meant to increase tumble in the cylinder, promoting a more homogeneous charge. This, in turn, gives us a couple benefits: A reduction of lean end gases, resulting in a more knock resistant charge; as well as reducing the chance for wall-wetting.

makes a little more sense, but i was hoping for what each part is designed to do. i see valve reliefs and 2 dishes. the valve reliefs make sense so the valves dont smack the piston lol and the first dish reminds me of a genpu dish which is meant to center the fuel and make a more controlled explosion, but the second dish's role still eludes me. im not sure how that creates a "tumble" effect. Do you have any tests or examples to help explain it to me? sorry if i am being difficult, i am just very curious about your design choice as im sure many people are

The upper dish ('C' shaped part) is primarily there to control compression ratio. In the picture, it's a fairly high compression piston, so there is very little material removed. This dish will vary depending on the setup. The front cavity (triangle or goomba shaped) is what controls the tumble effect, as you mentioned.

And yes, the valve reliefs are just valve reliefs, haha!

Oh ya, and his maf volts are 4.7ish so he will need bigger maf housing and a map sensor that can read high enough (3bar is almost maxed at 27psi... Aka spring pressure)

High compression DISI gets my dick hard.

Question - does a higher compression ratio shift the point where the engine is at peak VE? Or is VE more related to bore/stroke?

Sorry, I'm still a bit of a noob.

Personally I just like how they changed the piston design from a smiley face to an angry shroom face lol.

Got enough smiley already on my pu.
