Alright guys, here are the finished product pictures. I am so happy with the way it came out. I set the direction of the suede for the seats so when you swipe your hand in one direction the suede will all flow the same way. It looks so nice with just that splash of leather surrounding it, and that red stitch that Mazda put it to break up the black. Excuse the speaker wire stuff you see, while the interior was out I ran my wires for my stock location sub box from JT.

They are just iPhone pictures, not real good quality digital camera.

Here you go . . .

Tight. Man, those things were a lot of work. 2 full days doing it. They have a lot of points of contacts with hog nose clips, velcro, and the listings. You could tell on the covers what was a machine back stitch and what was a human done back stitch. I was pretty impressed by the quality of the workmanship from the factory on the seats.

I will say this too, they feel super comfortable.

JTMS3 I cannot wait. Everything is in place and ready to go. I routered out a 1/4" piece of clear lexan to fit inside the spare tire to mount the amp on. Now all I have to do is throw some adhesive on it and some carpet. I know it will not match, but I am just going to pick it up and Home Depot. You cannot see it anyway down there. If anyone else is going to do the same thing, and mount it to the same bolt hole that holds the spare tire down, that is a 10 x 1.25MM thread pitch. I just so happen to have some extra stock MZR main bolts from a motor I built, so they were the perfect length to use.

Here is my alternative to black. Two stages of Wet sand, two stages of polish compound with foam orange LC pad.

Update: I've started to take items out of the headliner for paint. Won't be long till the headliner it self comes out. Wish I had more dedicated time for it. Putting together the how to while project progresses. So far only basic interior tools needed. Nothing special.

SLOWHATCH likes this.

Travis how bright is that finish? Or is it more of a flat or matte? Kind of hard to tell in the pic. Looks good I see what you are going for there.

jrlms6 thanks brotha.

The stock silver trim around the shifter, Hand grips, stereo buttons, and vent bezels are all siver but flat silver. The trim I did was the same silver but a clear coat over it. Not any brighter than the stock per say, just shiny and clean. Will redo all the stock silver by adding the clear coat. Also the black button trim pieces on either side of the steering wheel will be silver as well.

The seats look really good! OP could you tell us the exact suede you used? Is it the same as the ones on your door panels?

SFWD 1934 I have to give you credit the seats came out awesome. They look hella comfortable too! You ever thought of getting MAZDASPEED stiched in the front seats like the Gen1?

pingaboo Thank you. It is the ultra suede by a company called Novatex. They use this particular style in jet liners. That is why I used it, because it can handle the contours better then the other stuff that has almost that headliner style backing. The same suede that I used on the doors, I used on the panels. I bought 3 yards total (56" wide so you know), and I have enough left to replace a seat insert if need be. I may actually do the seat on my GSX-R 750 with it.

manilaMS12 Thank you brotha.

I think this is how you really murder out an interior.

I Shot Marvin in the Face - Pulp Fiction (11/12) Movie CLIP (1994) HD - YouTube

JK. Looks great, but way too much work for me.

Looks really fuckin good. The day I bought my car I thought to myself, "this red/black polka dot shit has to go. The dealership was right down the street from G.A.S. so I asked them to quote me a price for the very same work you've done yourself. They took pictures of my interior to give to their apolsterer so he could quote me a price, but they only seem to call back celebrities. Again nice work with the suede and the paint. Just wondering if there were any airbag concerns with removal of the pillars?

i cant possibly read all these posts. did anyone ask you what you planned on doing with the seats? i bought vinyl and fabric dye from autozone and sprayed the red parts of the seats and after quite a few coats it looks almost like the dots were never there. i wanna get them re-wrapped in suede in the centers tho

nevermind someone did the seats haha, i need to step my game up

I decided to continue with the interior. I wrapped the steering wheel in black alcantara with red stitching. I am happy with the way it came out.
