| Not Ranked : 0 score Yea Mazda is definitely turning away from giving too many options because it makes things harder to sell (it happens all the time). Less choices = easier for me to sell cars and happier customers. A good example of this is yesterday I had a customer coming in on a Lincoln MKT. Loves the car and wasn't sure what color she wanted. We have like 100 of these cars (Largest Lincoln dealer in Western US). She sees the one red car we have (with black interior), falls in love with it, and decides she wants that exterior color with a tan interior. That is literally the only color choice we do not have. lol. Mazda is making a lot of changes on the way the sell cars. For example, This summer when the Mazda2 comes out they are thinking of selling them to the dealership at full MSRP. The dealership will only be paid on their Customer Service Index (CSI). That means the Mazda2 might be a car with no possible discount from the dealership (you pay the price you see on the sticker no questions asked). Hope you enjoyed my lesson on the car industry. Bottom line, the BS is being cut out of the process. Its ironic that many consumers, such as some of yourselves, are actually complaining about it. :-P

| Not Ranked : 0 score Also interesting news, I tried to see how much the LED tail lights would be for me since I get employee pricing and corksport is cheaper. I think it was 220 for one tail light so 440 for both.

I used the "mazdaspeed" decal mazda send me when i bought the car. For a few months it was what i had on my third brakelight. when i decided to paint the under part of my spoiler, decided to risk seeing what would happen if i used the sticker as the mask. after i applied a few coats of paint and low bake, just before clear coating it all, i pulled the sticker off...and the area under it was left unpainted. Worked out perfect i think!

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score did it myself. i had a white decal on it from mazda. left it on as the template....painted over it and the entire light, then peeled the decal off. pretty easy, but you have to take the entire spoiler assembly off the car to get the brakelight out. |

I hope you are right. I had a Scion tC back in 2006. Scion has pure pricing. I loved it. No haggling. No markup. No pressure. No back and forth trying to rip any one off. I knew to the penny what I was paying before even walking in. It was quick easy and to the point. You either like the price or you don't, which equals no pressure from the seller, and no stress on the buyer.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Thanks. I just took the plunge and ordered a set of these. I've had my tails smoked and am going to replace them with the LEDs due to all the Cops in Houston that keep fing with me. A question on the hatch lamps- if your car has the version that has the rubber lock button on the right reverse lamp, can you replace them with one that doesn't like Jase's in the picture above. I'm going to need to buy a new set of those, and the dealer mentioned there are several at a range of prices. I'm assuming the one's w/o the button are cheaper, and to be honest, I never use that damn thing. TIA |
