(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Foglight surrounds are held on by four molded clips. The key is starting off at the right spot, so took pics easy to remove: ![]() Note four molded clip areas 1. grab lower part of the plastic housing....gently, but firmly (yea, sounds dumb) start to pull and you should feel it start to come out. ![]() 2. slide your fingers right (pic is on driver's side foglight). Left if working on passenger side. ![]() 3. continue to the next clip area(either side you should now be at the top of the foglight. ![]() 4. last one. at this point it will be almost loose. Dont twist...you just need to apply pressure pulling straight out. ![]() To reinstall, you just go in reverse order. i found it easiest to get it back in this way due to the angle of the clips. |

MazSpd3Jase: When you painted your fog bezels, did you "rough" them up first with fine sandpaper or did you just paint over them without any prep? TIA!

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score light sand paper...and wet sand. it being plastic i was worried about putting in scratches. i also used adhesion prep, and primed. seems they are holding up pretty good so far.

Since my emblems are matte black, I'm doing my fog bezels the same finish...

you should yeah. i just don't like matte black emblems on black car, that's the only reason im going with glossy black.

Thanks for pioneering this! I got brave today and did my foglight surrounds in Mar-Hyde Satin Black trim spray. It matches the black color around the foglights pretty well. Next up:emblems

Wow, that looks really nice, I like it. I'd be tempted to paint the grille to match. It's weird, though...I like the grille because it closely matches the Black Mica in that it's glossy, but the darker fog surrounds seem to blend in just as much, if not more, even though it's got a matte finish.

Thanks, I really want to paint the grille. I can't decide whether to go with the satin black or with glossy Black Mica. The Mar-Hyde is pretty fool proof but I can see me making a big mess with the Black Mica gloss. One thing for sure....I'm not taking the bumper off....I'll do it with it in place. MazSpd3Jase, sorry if I'm threadjacking.

hehehe, no worries roadwar! you'd be amazed at how easy though it is to remove the front bumper....its a little scary at first, but i had step by step instruction on doing it. in retrospect i kinda wish i had tried to take the grill out and shared with pics. i may still do so though, as i wanna match mine to the same shade i used on the wheels and other trim i painted graphite (i want to fill in the stupid holes the dealership put in it to mount the front plate too) when i do it, i'll do a step by step teardown.

no they will pop off. u just have to pull pretty hard for them to pop off. Like OP said sometimes you wonder if your gonna break something, but it really will pop off without breaking. just follow his steps on here and pull a little harder.

If you haven't already, you should paint the valence on your rear bumber the same color to match your front grille and fog light bezels.

I more or less scuffed mine with sandpaper real quick, I didn't go crazy sanding. I didn't prime or anything, and mine are holding up good for about 3 or 4 months now. I used Rustoleum Painter's Touch Semi-Gloss black and satin clear coat.

Are all you guys painting, or has anyone use plasti-dip? If so, how does the dip finish blend with the existing housing finish? Pics? TIS Tapatalkative.

| Not Ranked : 0 score My buddy did it to his, I don't have pics. You can tell it's a different finish than the housing if you're taking a good look at the car, but no chance you'll notice just driving by. That being said, it doesn't look bad anyways. His is silver. Mine is black, and i'd almost just rather paint both the housing and the surrounds in the same graphite mica paint that comes on the grill stock. I don't like the flat unpainted ABS look of the housing, nor the off-silver off the surround.
