Excellent! This looks eerily similar to the DISI! Even the rods look pretty much the same (but they are helped out by the shorter stroke). Interesting it doesn't come with an oil cooler.

dood chill...my MS3 is paid for and will never leave me. the ST would be my DD and I would mod it too

BTW dont' hold your breath waiting for me to get one...its a pipe dream at this point. Been looking at them since...well dont' know how long. The matte black foil euro RS version was baller for sure.

Is the bore of this motor the same, with a shorter stroke? Forgive me if this has been said elsewhere.

The bore is the same but the stroke is different. Look under Ecoboost specs..

man this manual is much easier to read than the assembly manual for our motor.

Some things I found interesting...

Under the balance shaft assembly instructions it uses a lot of the same wording as our manual, many things verbatim like this - "Due to the precision interior construction of the balance shaft assembly, it should not be disassembled."

Their fuel pump is interesting, definitely a little different than the mazda's -
"NOTICE:
The fuel injection cam lobe must be positioned at zero lift before installing the fuel injection pump housing.
Mysteriously, the injector seals look a lot like SilverDemon/CP-e's

NOTICE:
Do not use compressed air or the Fuel Injector Brush to clean the tip of the fuel injectors. Failure to follow this instruction may result in
damage to the fuel injectors.
NOTE:
Do not lubricate the new lower Teflon® fuel injector seals.

Special Tool(s): Sizer, Teflon® Seal 303-1567 and Seal Installer, Fuel Injector 310-207.
NOTE:
The fuel rail pressure sensor must be replaced if it is removed from the fuel rail. Refer to Section 303-14.


Also their manifold/turbo looks very weird.:

NOTE:
Do not reuse the turbocharger oil filter, a new part must be installed.


Definitely appears that the MZR DISI was a test bed for ford.

The injector seals are way different from SilverDemon/CP-e's. It have a Teflon seal on lower part on the needle which is super expensive..

SPEED6 KILLAH This doesn't relate too much to this thread, but maybe you could have some input on this. I was told that when FORD does warranty work for say a blown engine they check for reflashing of the ECU and keystrokes (The amount of times the car has been turned on/off) and they can use this info. to deny warranty claims. Do you know if Mazda does this as well when assessing warranty work?

The injector seals are similar to other DI platforms like Audi/VW

The exh manifold is integrated into the head so it's just a single pipe going to the turbo.

I was looking at the seal wrong. The "cup" shape is part of the injector tool I guess.
